  •   Haworthia limifolia - Fairy Washboard is a compact succulent native to South Africa and Swaziland, where it grows in rocky, shaded grasslands. As a member of the Haworthia genus, it is tough and requires minimal attention.

Haworthia Limifolia forms tight, symmetrical rosettes of dark green, triangular leaves covered in raised ridges running horizontally across the surface like a tiny washboard. It grows in a clumping habit, steadily producing offsets that fill a pot with a colony of textured rosettes over time, typically reaching 4-6 inches across.

When conditions are right, including a slight drop in nighttime temperatures, it sends up slender stalks topped with small, tubular whitish-pink flowers. The blooms appear during the growing season when the plant receives proper dormancy signals.

It adapts well to low, medium, and bright indirect light, including office LED setups and terrariums. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It handles dry heated air without trouble and is pet-safe for cats and dogs. Move it back indoors before temperatures drop below 50°F.

  •   Haworthia limifolia - Fairy Washboard grows well in low to bright indirect light, tolerating office LEDs but scorching in harsh south-facing windows.

Water it every 2-3 weeks during summer and once a month or less in winter, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

Haworthia Limifolia does best in a well-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with extra perlite for fast drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 60-85°F and should be kept above 50°F, as it is not frost tolerant.

Haworthia Limifolia is a slow grower needing only light feeding with diluted succulent fertilizer once or twice during the growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 10 and 11, tolerating minimum temperatures down to about 30-35°F. It grows outdoors year-round in Florida, Hawaii, California, Texas, Arizona, Louisiana, and southern Nevada. It also grows outdoors with seasonal protection in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and along the southern Oregon coast.
  • Q: How often should I water Haworthia limifolia - Fairy Washboard?
A: Water every 2-3 weeks during the growing season, then once a month or less in winter. Stick your finger an inch into the soil; if any moisture remains, wait another few days before watering.

Q: Is this plant safe for households with cats or dogs?
A: Haworthia limifolia - Fairy Washboard is non-toxic and poses no known toxicity risk to cats or dogs.

Q: What light conditions does Haworthia Limifolia need?
A: East or north-facing windows work well, as they provide steady indirect light without intensity. Keep it at least 3 feet from a south-facing window to prevent leaf scorch.

Q: How do I propagate this plant?
A: Haworthia Limifolia produces offsets around the base of the mother rosette. Gently separate them and pot into well-draining succulent mix.

Q: How big does Haworthia Limifolia get?
A: Individual rosettes typically reach 4-6 inches across. Growth is compact and well-suited to small pots and terrariums.

Q: Can I move my plant outside for summer?
A: Haworthia Limifolia benefits from a shaded outdoor spot during warm months, as fresh air and indirect sun can enhance leaf color and texture. Keep it covered from rain and bring it back indoors before temperatures drop below 50°F.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
