    •   Opuntia 'Santa Rita', also called Prickly Pear Cactus, is a drought tolerant cactus native to the Sonoran and Chihuahuan Deserts of the American Southwest and northern Mexico. As a member of the Opuntia genus, it has thrived in arid, sun-baked landscapes for centuries and remains one of the most resilient choices for gardeners and collectors alike.

        'Santa Rita' is best known for its broad, rounded pads that shift from green to purple-violet when temperatures drop or sunlight intensifies. The pads grow in an upright, clumping habit, creating a bold sculptural form. Sparse but sharp spines line the pad edges, so placement should account for this sharp detail when siting the plant.
