    •   Sempervivum 'Sea Foam' is a frost hardy hens and chicks succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the mountainous regions of Europe and western Asia. These alpines evolved to grow in rocky, sparse terrain where water is scarce and winters are brutal, and Sea Foam carries that legendary toughness into gardens and containers across cold climates. The species has been cultivated for centuries by growers for its rugged constitution and minimal care needs.

        Sea Foam forms tight, symmetrical rosettes in soft lime green tones that give it the signature sea-foam quality plant lovers seek. The fleshy, pointed leaves are smooth-edged and pack closely together, creating a dense, geometric shape with an almost sculptural presence. As a clumping rosette succulent, it spreads steadily by producing offsets, or "chicks," that cluster around the mother plant and fill out over time.

        Like all hens and chicks succulents, Sea Foam needs a distinct drop in nighttime temperature to trigger blooming, so outdoor gardeners will see flower stalks rise from mature rosettes in summer.
