    •   Sempervivum 'Pixie' is a cold hardy succulent from the Crassulaceae family, native to the rocky alpine regions of Europe and western Asia. It is a compact rosette-forming hens and chicks variety selected for its small size and outstanding garden performance, growing where most plants struggle in sparse, well-drained terrain.

        Pixie forms tight, low-growing rosettes that cluster readily, sending out small offsets around the central rosette to create a spreading mat over time. The fleshy, pointed leaves spiral in geometric arrangement and shift from green to burgundy-red tones as light and cool temperatures deepen the color. Individual rosettes stay just a few inches across.

        It produces star-shaped flowers on tall upright stalks in summer, after which the blooming rosette completes its life cycle while surrounding offsets continue growing. Pixie tolerates dry heated indoor air, drafty window spots, and breezy balcony conditions including wind and rain.

        Leave it outdoors through autumn and into winter for a real energy boost. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Pixie is pet friendly and safe around cats and dogs, though pollen may be relevant for allergy-sensitive households. Use it in rock gardens, container arrangements, green roofs, and outdoor borders where drought tolerant plants are essential.

        Water it deeply but infrequently, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings, roughly every two to three weeks indoors.

        It handles a wide temperature range from around 25°F up to 85°F, with strong frost tolerance once established.
