  •   Sempervivum heuffelii 'Pink Skies' is a rare alpine succulent from the Crassulaceae family, native to the mountain regions of southeastern Europe. This cold hardy succulent evolved in rocky, exposed terrain where it grows well on minimal resources, making it both drought tolerant and exceptionally resilient to frost.

'Pink Skies' forms tight, symmetrical rosettes in soft blush and dusty rose tones that deepen with sun exposure and cooler temperatures. The fleshy, pointed leaves have smooth texture with subtly defined tips, creating clean geometric patterns that cluster into dense colonies. As a clumping succulent, it multiplies over time, spreading outward as offsets develop around the mother rosette.

Like all Sempervivum, individual rosettes are monocarpic, meaning they bloom once and then die back as surrounding offsets carry on the plant. This natural cycle keeps the colony looking full and healthy season after season, with new rosettes continuously developing to replace those that have completed their flowering cycle. It can be left outside well into autumn and withstands frost.

Move it outside in summer and 'Pink Skies' handles balcony wind and rain without trouble. It propagates easily from offsets, or chicks, that develop their own roots and can be detached and replanted in fresh gritty succulent mix. The plant is safe around cats and dogs.

  •   Sempervivum heuffelii 'Pink Skies' needs four to six hours of direct sun daily to develop full color intensity.

Water it deeply but infrequently, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings, roughly every two to three weeks indoors or after dry spells outdoors.

'Pink Skies' does best in fast-draining gritty mix, such as cactus and succulent blend mixed with perlite or coarse pumice at a 50/50 ratio.

It handles a broad temperature range and is frost tolerant, surviving cold well below freezing, generally down to around 0°F or lower depending on conditions.

'Pink Skies' is a slow to moderate clumping grower that needs little to no fertilizer, with a light diluted succulent feed once in spring being sufficient.

It is hardy in USDA Zones 3 through 8, tolerating freezing temperatures well below 0°F. It grows outdoors year-round in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Dakota, South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, and Oregon. It also grows outdoors in Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Washington, and parts of California, New Mexico, and Texas with colder winters.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
