    •   Sempervivum Gulle Dame is a frost hardy succulent belonging to the Crassulaceae family, native to the mountainous regions of Europe and Asia Minor. This hens and chicks species evolved in rocky, well-drained terrain with intense sun and cold winters, making it exceptionally tough.

        The plant forms tight, symmetrical rosettes with fleshy, pointed leaves that cluster outward in layered patterns. Foliage shifts from green to maroon-red tones, intensifying with more sun exposure. Sempervivum 'Gulle Dame' spreads by producing offsets around the mother rosette, eventually creating a dense carpet of color.

        Like all sempervivums, it is monocarpic, meaning each rosette flowers once then gives way to surrounding offsets. A drop in nighttime temperature triggers blooming, so plants kept outdoors or near a cool window are most likely to flower.

        You can grow it on a sunny balcony, in a rock garden, or on an indoor windowsill. It tolerates dry heated indoor air well and handles drafty spots without fuss. You can leave it up to ten days without water. This succulent is non-toxic to cats and dogs.
