  •   Sedum rupestre 'Silver' is a low-growing succulent native to rocky slopes and dry hillsides across central and western Europe. This cold-hardy plant grows well naturally in lean soils and bright sun, making it an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a drought-tolerant succulent.

The plant forms a dense, mat-forming carpet of narrow, fleshy leaves arranged in tight rosette clusters along trailing stems. Its blue-silver foliage has a luminous quality in sunlight, and the leaves overlap in a compact pattern that gives it the look of a silvery groundcover. It spreads generously across rock gardens or trails over container edges with equal ease.

Sedum 'Silver' produces star-shaped yellow flowers on upright stems during summer months. The blooms attract pollinators and carry no fragrance.

Move it outside in summer; it handles balcony wind and rain without trouble. Rotate container plants occasionally to keep growth even and full on all sides. The plant is pet-friendly and has a history of edible and medicinal use in its native European regions. It can stay outside through autumn without damage.

  •   Sedum rupestre 'Silver' grows well in full sun to partial sun, needing at least four to six hours of direct light daily.

Water it every ten to fourteen days during the growing season, letting the soil dry completely between waterings.

Sedum 'Silver' does best in a gritty, fast-draining mix such as cactus soil blended with perlite or coarse sand.

It handles temperatures down to around 0°F, tolerating frost across a wide climate range.

Sedum 'Silver' spreads at a moderate to fast pace and needs only light, occasional fertilizing in spring and early summer.

It is hardy in USDA Zones 4 through 9. It tolerates frost down to around -30°F at the cold end of that range and grows outdoors across the Pacific coast through the upper Midwest. It grows outdoors in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, Arizona, Texas, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, New Mexico, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Missouri, Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Vermont.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
