  •   Spathiphyllum 'Peace Lily', also called Peace Lily, is a tropical flowering houseplant in the Araceae family, native to the rainforest floors of Central and South America. It grows naturally in warm, humid, low-light understories, which shapes its preference for indirect light and high moisture indoors.

The leaves are broad, lance-shaped, and forest green with a glossy surface that catches even dim indoor light. 'Peace Lily' grows in an upright, spreading clump from a central base, with arching stems that can span quite wide at maturity. The white spathe blooms rise above the foliage on tall stems, each one surrounding a slender cream-colored spadix.

'Peace Lily' produces white blooms most frequently in spring, though it can rebloom in autumn when nighttime temperatures drop slightly. It benefits from a modest temperature dip at night to trigger a second flush of flowers. The blooms are lightly fragrant and do release pollen, so it may not suit people with sensitivities to allergens.

Place 'Peace Lily' near a kitchen or bathroom where ambient moisture naturally supports it, or set it in a humid terrarium where it thrives with consistent warmth and no dry air drafts. Keep it away from south-facing windows, air conditioning vents, and heating units, as direct exposure to any of these scorches or browns the leaf edges. It grows well under standard office LED lighting and filters formaldehyde and other airborne toxins from indoor spaces. Cats, dogs, and small children should not have access to the leaves or sap, as ingestion is harmful and the sap can irritate skin and paws on contact — place it on a high shelf or out of reach entirely.

  •   Spathiphyllum 'Peace Lily' 6 inch grows well in medium to bright indirect light, including under standard office LED fixtures.

Water it every 7 to 10 days, keeping the soil consistently moist but never waterlogged or sitting in standing water.

'Peace Lily' does best in a well-draining, peat-based or coco coir potting mix with good moisture retention.

It prefers temperatures between 65°F and 85°F and suffers leaf damage when exposed to cold drafts or air below 50°F.

'Peace Lily' grows at a moderate pace and benefits from a balanced liquid fertilizer applied monthly during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 11 to 12, where frost does not occur and temperatures stay above 40°F year-round. It grows outdoors in Hawaii and in the warmest frost-free pockets of southern Florida. It performs as a permanent outdoor container or landscape plant in those zones without cold protection.
  • Q: Does Spathiphyllum 'Peace Lily' 6 inch need a lot of light to survive indoors?
A: It tolerates low to medium light and grows under standard office LEDs without issue. South-facing windows can scorch the leaves, so keep it back from direct sun exposure.

Q: Why are the leaves on my plant turning yellow?
A: Spathiphyllum 'Peace Lily' 6 inch yellows most often from overwatering, where roots sit in soggy soil and begin to suffocate. Low humidity, cold drafts, or exposure to AC and heater vents can also cause yellowing along the leaf edges.

Q: Is 'Peace Lily' safe to keep around pets?
A: Cats and dogs should not be left to nibble or eat the plant, and the sap can irritate paws and skin on contact. Keep it on a high shelf or in a spot that stays out of reach.

Q: How do I propagate this plant?
A: 'Peace Lily' propagates by division at repotting time. Separate a clump that has its own roots and leaves from the base of the mother plant, then pot it into fresh moist mix.

Q: How do I know when Peace Lily needs water?
A: It wilts slightly when the soil has dried out. Once you see the leaves droop, water thoroughly and it will recover within a few hours.

Q: Can Peace Lily grow outside during summer?
A: Peace Lily can move outside in summer in a shaded or covered spot with no direct rain or harsh sun on the leaves. Bring it back indoors before nighttime temperatures fall below 55°F.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
