  •   Ghost Plant Graptopetalum Paraguayense, also called Ghost Plant, is a drought-tolerant succulent from the Crassulaceae family native to the rocky cliffs and hillsides of Tamaulipas, Mexico. It grows well across a range of indoor conditions and adapts well to different light levels, making it suitable for any home.

The plant forms loose rosettes of thick, pointed leaves in soft lavender-gray to peachy-pink hues that shift with light intensity and temperature. Its leaves have a powdery coating called farina that gives it a ghostly, pearl-like appearance. As it matures, it develops a trailing, clustering habit, sending stems outward and filling a space without much intervention.

In spring after a cool winter rest, small star-shaped flowers emerge in white to pale yellow with reddish speckles. A cool nighttime temperature drop is the key trigger for blooming. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

You can hang it, place it on a sunny windowsill, or move it outside for summer on a patio or balcony. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it safe for pet households. Graptopetalum Paraguayense propagates easily from leaf pulls or stem cuttings placed on dry, well-draining soil; leaves root within a few weeks and new rosettes emerge shortly after.

  •   Ghost Plant Graptopetalum Paraguayense grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, ideally near an east or west-facing window.

Water it deeply every 10–14 days in summer and every 3–4 weeks in winter, letting soil dry completely between waterings.

Graptopetalum Paraguayense grows best in a fast-draining mix of cactus soil blended with coarse perlite at a 50/50 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65–80°F and shows frost tolerance down to around 25°F with some protection.

Graptopetalum Paraguayense is a moderate grower that benefits from a diluted balanced succulent fertilizer once in early spring and once in midsummer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9–11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F before needing frost protection. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Nevada. Outdoor growers along the Oregon coast and in select microclimates of New Mexico and Arkansas can also grow it with minimal winter cover.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
