  •   Echeveria 'Tigela' is a rare rosette succulent from the Crassulaceae family, native to Mexico's mountainous regions where it grows naturally in rocky, well-draining terrain. This drought-tolerant collector succulent grows well in arid conditions and requires minimal intervention to flourish.

It forms tight, symmetrical rosettes with thick, fleshy spoon-shaped leaves that taper to pointed tips. The foliage has blue-green leaves with subtle purple undertones and a smooth, waxy texture that conserves moisture. Each rosette typically reaches 4–6 inches across, creating geometric patterns that work as a desktop plant or shelf accent.

In late spring to early summer, 'Tigela' produces tall flower spikes bearing bell-shaped blooms in coral-pink to orange hues. The flowering display lasts several weeks, extending vertical interest above the compact rosette. The plant is non-toxic to cats, dogs, and children.

It tolerates dry indoor air and grows well under office lighting or bright windowsills. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside for summer enjoyment, though it needs shelter from rain to prevent root rot. Bring it indoors before temperatures drop below 40°F in autumn.

  •   Echeveria 'Tigela' grows well in bright indirect light or full sun, but scorches in intense south-facing windows.

Water it deeply every 7–10 days during the growing season, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

'Tigela' does best in well-draining cactus and succulent potting mix amended with perlite or pumice.

It prefers temperatures between 65–80°F and is not frost-tolerant below 32°F.

'Tigela' grows slowly and requires minimal fertilizer, just diluted succulent food monthly during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9–11 and cannot tolerate frost below 32°F. It grows year-round outdoors in Florida, Hawaii, southern California, southern Texas, southern Arizona, southern Nevada, coastal Oregon, Louisiana, southern Georgia, South Carolina, southern Alabama, and southern Mississippi. In zone 9 areas including northern Florida, central California, central Texas, northern Louisiana, coastal North Carolina, and parts of Georgia, it needs winter protection during occasional cold snaps.
  • Q: Is Echeveria 'Tigela' safe for pets and children?
A: It is completely non-toxic to cats, dogs, and children.

Q: What window direction works best for indoor light?
A: Echeveria 'Tigela' needs a bright indirect location or east/west-facing window; direct south sun causes leaf scorch.

Q: How large does 'Tigela' grow?
A: Individual rosettes reach 4–6 inches across and grow slowly, staying compact on desks or shelves.

Q: What happens if I overwater?
A: Overwatering causes root rot, so soil must dry completely between waterings and the pot needs drainage holes.

Q: Can 'Tigela' survive a two-week trip without water?
A: It can go up to ten days unwatered; for longer absences, use a watering globe or ask someone to water it.

Q: Which US states allow year-round outdoor growing?
A: 'Tigela' grows outdoors year-round in Florida, Hawaii, southern California, southern Texas, southern Arizona, southern Nevada, coastal Oregon, Louisiana, southern Georgia, South Carolina, southern Alabama, and southern Mississippi.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
