  •   Echeveria 'Summer' is a rosette succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the semi-arid highlands of Mexico where drought tolerance and bright sun shaped its growth. It produces tight, symmetrical rosettes and clusters over time.

The plant forms spoon-shaped leaves in warm tones that shift between soft green, coral, and peachy blush depending on sun exposure and seasonal conditions. Individual rosettes stay compact, typically reaching 3 to 5 inches across, with a slightly powdery coating on the fleshy leaves that catches light. As a clustering echeveria, 'Summer' gradually produces offsets around the mother rosette, creating the classic hen and chicks appearance in a pot or dish garden.

'Summer' can produce bell-shaped blooms on arching stems when grown in cooler autumn temperatures. A consistent drop in nighttime temperatures encourages the plant to set buds, and positioning it near a cool window in fall triggers the temperature cue needed for flowering the following season.

Rotate the pot every week or two so each side receives equal sun exposure and the rosette stays round. You can leave it up to ten days without water. The offsets that form around the base separate easily for propagation into fresh succulent mix, or leaf cuttings can be left to callous before laying on damp soil. 'Summer' is non-toxic to cats and dogs, so it is safe to display anywhere in a home with pets.

  •   Echeveria 'Summer' grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full direct sun near a south- or east-facing window.

Water it deeply every 10 to 14 days in summer, letting soil dry completely between waterings, and reduce to once monthly in winter.

'Summer' does best in a fast-draining cactus and succulent blend cut with perlite at roughly 50/50 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 80°F and should be protected from frost below 32°F.

'Summer' is a slow to moderate grower; feed once in spring with diluted balanced fertilizer to support healthy offset development.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9–11 and cannot tolerate frost below 32°F, so it is best grown as a container plant in colder climates. It grows outdoors year-round across California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. It can also be trialed in sheltered spots throughout parts of Oregon, the Gulf Coast, and the warmer pockets of New Mexico and Virginia.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria 'Summer'?
A: In the growing season, allow soil to dry completely between waterings. Winter watering can be reduced to once monthly or less depending on indoor temperatures and light levels.

Q: Can it survive indoors in heated air?
A: Echeveria 'Summer' tolerates the dry heated air of indoor spaces without issue.

Q: How much light does 'Summer' need daily?
A: At least 4 to 6 hours of good light per day. Without gradual acclimation, sudden shifts to intense south-facing sun can cause leaf scorching.

Q: Is there an easy way to multiply plants?
A: 'Summer' produces offsets around the base that separate easily and pot up in fresh mix. Leaf cuttings also work well when left to callous before laying on damp soil.

Q: Can 'Summer' be moved outside in summer?
A: Yes. Move it to a bright outdoor spot with some protection from heavy rain, which can cause rot. Bring it back indoors before temperatures drop toward frost in autumn.

Q: Is it safe for households with pets?
A: 'Summer' is non-toxic to cats and dogs and can be displayed anywhere in a home with pets.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
