  •   RARE Echeveria Rusby is a succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to rocky, arid regions of Mexico where it grows in well-draining, gritty soil under bright conditions. This plant is rare and compact with a rosette form, making it an uncommon find on the market.

It forms upright rosettes with thick, spoon-shaped leaves in silvery-green to blue-green tones, often edged with a subtle blush or pink flush. The clustering growth habit means a single plant gradually produces offsets, creating a fuller, layered display over time. Echeveria rusby stays compact, typically reaching 4-6 inches in diameter, so it fits easily on shelves, windowsills, and patio arrangements.

When temperatures drop at night during late winter or spring, it produces tall arching stems tipped with small bell-shaped blooms in coral or orange-red tones. The plant does produce pollen, so keep that in mind if anyone in your household has sensitivities. It also tolerates dry heated indoor air and adapts well to typical home temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

Move it outside in summer where it loves spending time on a patio or in a garden bed with bright light, but keep it sheltered from heavy rain to prevent root rot. Rotate the plant regularly so every side receives even bright light and the rosette stays symmetrical. Echeveria rusby is completely pet-friendly, non-toxic to cats and dogs, and propagates easily from offsets removed from the base and potted in well-draining soil.

  •   RARE Echeveria Rusby grows well in bright indirect light and may scorch if placed directly against a south-facing window.

Water it every 10-14 days in summer and reduce to once every 3-4 weeks in winter, letting the soil dry fully between waterings.

Echeveria rusby does best in well-draining gritty soil, ideally a cactus mix blended with perlite or coarse sand.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit and should be brought indoors before frost threatens.

Echeveria rusby grows at a slow to moderate pace and benefits from a diluted balanced fertilizer once or twice during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating brief dips to around 25-28 degrees Fahrenheit but performing best where hard frosts are rare. It grows outdoors year-round across much of California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Coastal areas of Oregon, the warmer pockets of New Mexico, and parts of Arkansas and North Carolina along the zone 9 boundary can also support it with minimal winter protection.
  • Q: How often should I water RARE Echeveria Rusby?
A: Water during the growing season when the top inch of soil is dry. Winter watering drops significantly as the plant enters dormancy.

Q: Is it safe to keep around cats and dogs?
A: RARE Echeveria Rusby is non-toxic and completely pet-friendly for both cats and dogs.

Q: What window direction works best for Echeveria rusby?
A: An east or west-facing window provides ideal bright indirect light. South-facing windows can cause leaf scorching; position it a few feet away from the glass or filter the afternoon sun.

Q: How large does it get?
A: Echeveria rusby forms a compact upright rosette typically 4-6 inches in diameter. As it matures, it produces offsets that gradually fill the pot with multiple rosettes.

Q: Can Echeveria rusby be propagated at home?
A: Remove offsets from the base of the mother plant and pot them in well-draining gritty soil. Leaf cuttings also work but are slower to establish.

Q: Does it need winter protection outdoors in cooler regions?
A: In zones 8 and colder, bring it indoors before hard frost, or use frost cloth if growing it in a sheltered garden bed.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
