  •   Echeveria Moranii is a rare succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to Mexico like most members of its genus. It forms tight, symmetrical rosettes and belongs to the group of echeverias that have become staples for collectors and beginners alike, valued for their sculptural beauty and low-maintenance nature.

The plant features thick, spoon-shaped leaves in soft grey-green tones, often finishing with maroon or pinkish edges that deepen in bright light. Its clustering growth habit gradually produces offsets, building into a fuller, multi-headed display. Single rosettes typically reach 3 to 5 inches in diameter, though mature plants spread wider as they offset.

It produces slender arching stems tipped with small coral to orange-pink blooms, typically appearing in spring or summer when the plant receives a nighttime temperature drop that triggers the flowering cycle. The blooms are not fragrant but add a warm color contrast above the cool grey-green rosette.

It can stay indoors on a sunny windowsill or move outside for summer to enjoy natural light and air circulation; protect it from rain to prevent root rot. You can leave it up to ten days without water. The plant is non-toxic and safe around cats and dogs. Remove offsets that form around the base and pot them individually in well-draining succulent mix for propagation.

  •   Echeveria Moranii grows well in bright indirect light to partial or full sun, ideally near an east or west-facing window.

Water it deeply every 10 to 14 days in summer, reducing to once every 3 to 4 weeks in winter.

Echeveria moranii grows best in a fast-draining mix of 50% coarse perlite blended with cactus or succulent potting soil.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 80°F and should be protected from frost below 25°F.

Echeveria moranii is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from diluted balanced fertilizer once monthly during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F before frost damage becomes a risk. It grows outdoors year-round across California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. Coastal Oregon, coastal Washington, and parts of New Mexico and Arkansas within Zone 9 microclimates also support it outside for much of the year with light protection during cold snaps.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria Moranii?
A: Every 10 to 14 days during the growing season, letting the soil dry completely between waterings. In winter, reduce to once every 3 to 4 weeks.

Q: Is it safe to keep around pets?
A: Echeveria Moranii is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: How much light does Echeveria moranii need?
A: Position it on a south or west-facing windowsill where it receives several hours of direct sun. Rotate the pot regularly so all sides receive even light and the rosette stays symmetrical.

Q: How big does it get?
A: Echeveria moranii typically reaches 3 to 5 inches in rosette diameter as a single head. Over time its clustering habit produces offsets, so a mature plant spreads wider.

Q: How do I propagate Echeveria moranii?
A: Gently remove offsets that form around the base and pot them individually in well-draining succulent mix. Leaf cuttings can also work, though offsets root more reliably.

Q: Why is it considered rare?
A: Echeveria moranii is produced in smaller quantities than common succulent varieties, making it less widely available in mainstream garden centers. Its grey-green leaves with maroon edges and compact clustering form appeal to collectors.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
