  •   Echeveria Melaco Brown Rose is a succulent in the Crassulaceae family that originates from the semi-arid highlands of Mexico and Central America. This drought-tolerant plant grows well in rocky, well-draining soils with plenty of sun, making it a compact rosette succulent for anyone new to plant care or looking to expand a collection.

'Melaco Brown Rose' forms a tight, symmetrical rosette of thick, spoon-shaped leaves in chocolate-brown to deep burgundy tones, often with warm copper or green undertones depending on light exposure. The leaves have a slight powdery coating called farina, giving it a soft, velvety appearance. As a clustering variety, it gradually produces offsets around the base over time, filling out into a fuller display.

When nighttime temperatures drop, it sends up slender stalks with small bell-shaped flowers typical of the echeveria genus. Bright indirect light and a cooler autumn period encourage blooming.

Move 'Melaco Brown Rose' outside in summer to soak up natural light and fresh air, then bring it indoors before frost and keep it covered from rain since sitting water on the rosette causes rot. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs.

  •   Echeveria Melaco Brown Rose grows well in bright indirect light to full sun and needs regular rotation for even rosette growth.

Water it every 10 to 14 days in summer and every 3 to 4 weeks in winter, letting soil dry fully between waterings.

'Melaco Brown Rose' does best in a gritty, fast-draining cactus and perlite mix to prevent root rot.

It prefers temperatures between 60 and 80°F and should be protected from frost below 25°F.

'Melaco Brown Rose' is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from light balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F but performing best in frost-free climates. It grows outdoors year-round across California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Coastal areas of Oregon, Washington, and North Carolina, along with parts of New Mexico and Arkansas, also fall within or border these zones.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria Melaco Brown Rose?
A: Every 10 to 14 days during warm months and every 3 to 4 weeks in winter. Soft or wilting leaves indicate the soil has dried too long and watering is overdue.

Q: Is this plant safe for cats and dogs?
A: Echeveria Melaco Brown Rose is non-toxic and safe for pets. You can display it freely in any room without concern for curious cats or dogs.

Q: How much light does 'Melaco Brown Rose' need?
A: East or west-facing windows with bright indirect light to partial sun work best. Rotate it regularly so every side of the rosette receives even exposure.

Q: Can 'Melaco Brown Rose' grow under office LED lighting?
A: It can survive under bright office LEDs, but natural sunlight keeps the chocolate-brown color most vivid. Supplement with a grow light if your workspace lacks a bright window.

Q: How big does 'Melaco Brown Rose' get?
A: It typically grows as a compact rosette reaching around 4 to 6 inches in diameter, with clustering offsets forming over time for additional plants.

Q: What's the easiest way to propagate this plant?
A: Remove the offsets that cluster at the base and pot them separately in well-draining soil. Leaf propagation is also possible, though offset division is faster and more reliable.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
