  •   Echeveria 'Guapa' is a compact rosette-forming succulent in the Crassulaceae family, bred from Echeveria species native to the semi-arid highlands of Mexico and Central America. It has gained a following among indoor succulent growers for its soft pastel tones and neat, symmetrical form.

The rosette grows low and tight, with thick, spoon-shaped leaves that layer outward in a precise spiral. Leaf color ranges from soft mint-green to dusty lavender, with pink to rose-colored edges that deepen in bright light. The leaf surface has a powdery farina coating that gives it a frosted, matte appearance.

'Guapa' produces slender arching stems in spring or summer, tipped with small, coral to orange-pink flowers. A drop in nighttime temperatures in the weeks before the growing season encourages blooming. This plant is pet-friendly, and it releases oxygen at night, making it a good fit for bedrooms or living spaces.

Rotate the pot a quarter turn every week or two so each side of 'Guapa' receives even light and the rosette stays symmetrical. Move it outside in summer, but place it where rain cannot collect in the rosette. Keep it away from air conditioning vents and heating units, as direct airflow from either dries and stresses the leaves. You can leave it up to ten days without water, and it handles dry heated indoor air without trouble.

  •   Echeveria 'Guapa' grows best in bright indirect light, such as a few feet back from an east- or west-facing window.

Water it every 10 to 14 days in spring and summer, reducing to once a month in winter; let soil dry fully between waterings.

'Guapa' does best in a gritty, well-draining mix such as cactus soil blended with perlite at a 1:1 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65°F and 80°F indoors and should be kept above 40°F at all times.

'Guapa' is a slow to moderate grower; feed it with a diluted balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in midsummer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9b through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F but performing best without frost. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, and other warm-climate states in those zones. It can also spend summers outdoors in cooler zones, as long as it is brought inside before the first frost.
  • Q: How much light does Echeveria 'Guapa' need indoors?
A: An east- or west-facing window works well, keeping it a foot or two back from the glass. South-facing windows can scorch the leaves, so use a sheer curtain or increase the distance if that is your only option.

Q: Is this succulent safe for cats and dogs?
A: Yes. Echeveria 'Guapa' is non-toxic and pet-friendly for both cats and dogs.

Q: How do I know when 'Guapa' needs water?
A: The leaves will feel slightly softer than usual and may show faint wrinkling when the plant is dry. Check that the top inch of soil is completely dry before watering.

Q: Can this succulent stay outside during autumn?
A: 'Guapa' can stay outdoors into early autumn as long as nighttime temperatures stay above 40°F. Bring it inside before the first frost and cover it from rain during that transition period.

Q: Can 'Guapa' survive a long trip without being watered?
A: It can go up to ten days without water without any issue.

Q: How big does this succulent get?
A: 'Guapa' typically reaches about 3 to 4 inches in diameter at full size, staying compact enough for a desk or windowsill.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
