  •   Echeveria Esther is a succulent in the Crassulaceae family native to the semi-arid highlands of Mexico and Central America. It grows well in rocky, well-drained terrain with abundant sun and has become one of the most widely available blue rosette succulents for collectors and beginners.

'Esther' forms a tidy, symmetrical rosette of plump, spoon-shaped leaves in soft blue-green tones with pink tips that deepen as light exposure increases. The leaves wear a powdery farina coating that gives it a dusty, silvery appearance. As a clustering succulent, it gradually produces offsets around the base, spreading wider over time in a hens-and-chicks formation.

In late winter or spring, 'Esther' may produce slender bloom stalks bearing small, bell-shaped flowers in warm pink or coral tones, especially when it receives cooler night temperatures. Blooming is more reliable outdoors or near a cool window in autumn. Rotating the rosette regularly keeps its shape even between bloom cycles.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside in summer to strengthen the plant and encourage flowering. Keep it away from direct air conditioning or heating vents, though it handles dry indoor air reasonably well. It is pet-friendly and non-toxic to cats and dogs, so it fits safely anywhere in the home. Display 'Esther' on a sunny windowsill, patio, or in mixed succulent arrangements.

  •   Echeveria Esther grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, ideally near an east or west-facing window indoors.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days in summer and reduce to once a month in winter, always allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

'Esther' does best in a fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with perlite for optimal root health.

It prefers temperatures between 60-80°F and should be protected from frost below 30°F.

'Esther' grows at a moderate pace and benefits from a diluted balanced fertilizer applied once monthly during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating brief dips to around 25-30°F but performing best with frost protection. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Nevada. Coastal areas of Oregon, Washington, and parts of North Carolina also fall within or near these zones.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria Esther?
A: Every 10-14 days during the growing season, letting the soil dry fully between waterings. Drop back to once monthly in winter.

Q: Is it safe around pets?
A: Echeveria Esther is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: How much light does 'Esther' need?
A: Place it in a bright spot with at least several hours of direct sun daily. South-facing windows can scorch the leaves in intense midday heat, so east or west-facing is ideal.

Q: Can offsets be separated to make new plants?
A: 'Esther' propagates easily from offsets gently removed from the base. Allow the offset to callous for a day or two before placing it on dry succulent soil.

Q: How large does 'Esther' get?
A: A single rosette grows to about 3-5 inches across. Over time it clusters and spreads wider as new offsets emerge.

Q: Can this succulent tolerate outdoor summer heat?
A: 'Esther' loves spending summer outdoors in a bright, sheltered spot. Just shield it from heavy rain to prevent overwatering and root rot.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
