  •   Echeveria Aurora is a succulent from the Crassulaceae family native to Mexico's semi-arid regions. It evolved in rocky, well-drained terrain with bright sun and seasonal dry spells, making it naturally drought-tolerant.

'Aurora' forms a compact rosette of plump, spoon-shaped leaves in soft blush pink with rosy edges that deepen in bright light. As it matures, the plant offsets freely, creating a clustering, hen-and-chicks effect that fills a pot with layered rosettes. The pearlescent foliage stays neat and contained, typically reaching 4 to 6 inches in diameter as a single rosette before spreading outward.

In spring or early summer, slender arching stems emerge tipped with coral-pink to orange bell-shaped flowers. 'Aurora' requires a nighttime temperature drop of around 10 to 15 degrees to trigger blooming, so moving it to a cooler location in late winter can coax flowering. The blooms attract pollinators and add a seasonal accent to the plant's foliage.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outdoors in summer to encourage color and compact growth; just bring it under shelter to prevent waterlogged soil from rain. 'Aurora' tolerates dry heated indoor air and grows well on a sunny windowsill, desk, patio table, or grouped in shallow dish gardens. It is pet-friendly and non-toxic around cats and dogs.

  •   Echeveria Aurora grows well in bright indirect light to direct sun, 4 to 6 hours daily near an east or west-facing window.

Water it deeply every 10 to 14 days during spring and summer, reducing to once every 3 to 4 weeks in fall and winter.

'Aurora' does best in a gritty, fast-draining cactus and succulent mix combined with perlite at a 1:1 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 60 to 80°F and should be brought indoors before temperatures fall below 40°F.

'Aurora' is a slow to moderate grower; apply a diluted balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25 to 28°F before cold damage sets in. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Texas, Arizona, Hawaii, Florida, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Nevada. Coastal pockets of Oregon, Washington, and parts of New Mexico also fall within these warmer zones where it can grow outside through most seasons.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria Aurora?
A: Water deeply and then wait for the soil to dry completely. During spring and summer this typically means every 10 to 14 days, but winter waterings space out to once every 3 to 4 weeks as growth slows.

Q: Is this succulent pet safe?
A: Echeveria Aurora is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: How much light does 'Aurora' need?
A: East or west-facing windows work best; south-facing windows can scorch the leaves if the plant sits directly in the beam. Watch for bleached or crispy leaf tips if light exposure is too intense or prolonged.

Q: What is the typical size of this plant?
A: 'Aurora' usually reaches 4 to 6 inches in diameter as a single rosette, then offsets and clusters to fill a wider container with multiple smaller rosettes over time.

Q: How do you propagate 'Aurora'?
A: Gently twist off healthy offsets from the base and pot them in dry succulent mix. Leaf propagation also works; remove leaves cleanly and let them callous for several days before placing on soil.

Q: Why isn't my plant blooming?
A: Blooming requires a nighttime temperature drop of around 10 to 15°F for several weeks. In late winter or early spring, move the plant to an unheated room or cooler spot overnight to trigger flower production.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
