        The leaves are thick, fleshy, and arranged in a tight rosette, with serrated edges lined in pale teeth. In lower light, the foliage holds a deep blue-green tone, but under direct sun the leaves shift toward burgundy-red and purple. This color change is one of the most consistent traits of this color-changing succulent, and it deepens further with mild drought stress or a temperature drop at night.
