  •   Echeveria 'Linn' is a compact rosette succulent in the Crassulaceae family, developed as a cultivated hybrid from the diverse Echeveria genus native to semi-arid regions of Mexico and Central America. It forms a tight, symmetrical rosette and holds its shape well in container growing, indoors and out.

'Linn' produces fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves arranged in a layered rosette that stays compact and low-growing. The leaves are soft lavender to dusty mauve, with slightly pinkish edges that deepen with more sun exposure. The surface has a powdery farina coating that gives it a matte, frosted appearance.

Flower information for this cultivar is limited, but like most Echeveria, it can produce a slender bloom stalk with small, bell-shaped flowers when given a drop in nighttime temperatures during cooler months. This temperature shift between day and night is what typically triggers the blooming cycle. It is pet-friendly, so there is no need to keep it out of reach of cats or dogs.

Move it outside for summer in a spot with morning sun and afternoon shade, and bring it back in before the first frost. Keep it covered or sheltered from rain, as sitting water on the rosette or in wet soil for extended periods leads to rot. You can leave it up to ten days without water, and it tolerates the dry, heated air common in most homes during winter. Rotate it every few weeks so all sides of the rosette receive even light exposure.

  •   Echeveria 'Linn' grows best in bright indirect light to partial direct sun, about two to four hours daily.

Water it every ten to fourteen days in spring and summer, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings.

'Linn' does best in a well-draining cactus or succulent mix, ideally amended with perlite or coarse sand.

It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F and should be kept away from air conditioning vents and heating units.

'Linn' is a slow-growing compact succulent; feed it with a diluted balanced fertilizer once a month during the growing season only.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9b through 11, tolerating minimum temperatures down to around 25°F to 30°F. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, and along the Gulf Coast. It can also stay outdoors through autumn in zone 9b regions before temperatures drop below its threshold.
  • Q: How much light does Echeveria 'Linn' need indoors?
A: An east- or west-facing window works well. South-facing windows can cause scorching, especially in summer, so keep it a foot or two back from the glass if that is your only option.

Q: How do I know when it needs water?
A: Echeveria 'Linn' will wilt slightly and its leaves may feel less firm when the soil has been dry long enough that it needs a drink.

Q: Can 'Linn' be propagated at home?
A: Yes, leaf propagation works well. Gently twist a healthy leaf cleanly from the stem, let it callous for a day or two, then lay it on dry succulent mix. Small rosettes form at the base of the leaf within a few weeks.

Q: What happens if I overwater it?
A: 'Linn' will show soft, mushy, or translucent leaves near the base first, which is a sign the roots may be rotting. Pull it from the pot, trim any black or mushy roots, let them dry, and repot in fresh dry mix.

Q: Is 'Linn' a good choice if I have never grown succulents before?
A: The care steps are straightforward: bright light, infrequent watering, and a well-draining soil mix. It does not need frequent repotting or misting, and it handles a missed watering without issue.

Q: What causes yellow leaves on this succulent?
A: 'Linn' most commonly develops yellow leaves from overwatering or from sitting in soil that does not drain quickly enough. Less often, it can yellow from too little light over an extended period.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
