It forms tight, stacked columns of small, fleshy leaves that layer in a geometric pattern. Foliage is soft green with creamy pastel variegation, and leaf edges often blush red or pink when it receives ample light or experiences a nighttime temperature drop. Crassula 'Variegated Tom Thumb' grows in an upright, clumping, and clustering habit, producing a compact yet textural mound. 
It can produce small, star-shaped flowers typical of the Crassula genus, and a noticeable drop in night temperatures often encourages blooming. 
This succulent works well in terrariums, windowsill displays, and small pots where its clustering growth style can be appreciated. You can leave it up to ten days without water during active seasons. Move it outside for summer enjoyment, but provide cover from rain to prevent rot. Keep it on a high shelf or away from small children, as cats and dogs should not nibble or eat it. 
Crassula Pastel 'Variegated Tom Thumb' grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun, with some protection from intense midday exposure in south-facing windows.
