  •   Crassula rogersii is a compact succulent native to the Eastern Cape of South Africa, where it grows in rocky, sun-drenched terrain with excellent drainage. A member of the Crassulaceae family, it has a devoted following among succulent collectors and beginners for its textural appeal and straightforward care requirements.

It forms upright, clumping stems densely packed with small, plump leaves covered in soft fuzz that invites touch. The foliage is typically bright yellowish-green, shifting to red or orange at the tips when exposed to intense sunlight. The clustering habit creates a full, sculptural form that stays naturally compact and tidy on a shelf or windowsill.

It produces small, star-shaped flowers typical of the Crassula genus, often triggered by a noticeable drop in nighttime temperatures. The leaves remain textured year-round and growth is slow, minimizing repotting needs.

This compact succulent works equally well as an indoor houseplant or in outdoor summer containers. Keep it covered from heavy rain, as excess moisture invites rot. It is toxic to cats and dogs, so place it on a high shelf well out of reach of pets and small children. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

  •   Crassula rogersii grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, though it may scorch in intense south-facing windows without afternoon shade.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days in summer and reduce to once a month in winter, always letting the soil dry completely between waterings.

Crassula Rogersii performs best in a gritty, fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with perlite or coarse sand at a 50/50 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 60-80°F and should be protected from frost below 30°F.

Crassula Rogersii is a slow-growing succulent that needs only light balanced fertilizer once or twice during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F but performing best where winters stay mild. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. It grows outdoors along the mild coastal stretches of Oregon and Washington, as well as in New Mexico and parts of the Gulf Coast states where hard freezes are rare.
  • Q: How often should I water Crassula rogersii?
A: Check the soil moisture before each watering. Stick your finger an inch into the soil; if any moisture remains, wait another few days. In winter, extend the interval to once monthly to prevent root rot in cooler conditions.

Q: Can I move it outside during warm months?
A: Yes, Crassula rogersii benefits from outdoor placement in a bright spot during summer months. This exposure often encourages stronger stem development and flowering. Bring it back inside before fall temperatures drop.

Q: What light conditions does Crassula Rogersii prefer?
A: Place it in a bright location with indirect light to partial or full sun. Rotate the pot regularly so all sides develop even color and form.

Q: Is it safe for pets?
A: Crassula Rogersii is toxic to cats and dogs. Keep it on a high shelf well out of their reach and away from small children.

Q: How fast does Crassula Rogersii grow?
A: Growth is gradual, so the plant maintains its compact size for extended periods without needing a larger pot.

Q: Can it handle time away while I travel?
A: Crassula Rogersii has a thick, succulent structure that stores water. Water thoroughly before departure and the plant will remain healthy through a 10-day absence.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
