Calandiva Orange grows in an upright, clumping habit with glossy, scallop-edged leaves that are deep green and fleshy. The compact clustering form stays tidy and full, making it an excellent choice for windowsills, desks, and shelves. Its dense rosette-style flower heads sit above the foliage in tight, layered clusters, setting it apart from single-flowered Flaming Katy varieties.
Calandiva Orange produces double blooms in orange that last for weeks at a time. Like all rosebud kalanchoe varieties, it is a short-day plant, needing a drop in nighttime temperatures and longer dark periods to set new flower buds. Seasonal temperature shifts trigger repeat flushes of color throughout the year.
Calandiva Orange works well on sunny indoor shelves, in home offices with bright indirect light, and in sheltered outdoor summer spots. You can leave it up to ten days without water.
