Thimble Cactus Mammillaria

Size
  •  This listing features our beautiful rooted Thimble Mammillaria Cactus in 2 inch or 4 inch pot. Mammillaria gracilis v. fragilis is a charming, tiny cactus that is native to Central Mexico. Its small round bodies are densely covered with interlaced white spines, that gives the impression of white "thimbles". Clusters vigorously to form large mats. In late winter it features creamy yellow flowers. Requires gritty succulent or cactus potting soil. Prefers bright light and good airflow. Water when soil is completely dry to the touch. When one of the little bodies breaks off, it can be propagated into a new plant. Use in a fairy garden or in an alpine trough garden.

All of the plants will be shipped bare root.
  •  Full Sun.

     A well-drained succulent mix.

     Suitable for growing Indoors.

  • Your plant will be meticulously bubblewrapped and shipped in a sturdy box. Most 2" plants are shipped in their original plastic pot with soil. Fragile and big 4" plants are shipped bareroot to ensure their safety. When opening your package, some soil may be loose in the box. Plant orders are shipped within 3-5 days depending on availability of the plant. We ship our plants Monday through Friday, all twelve months of the year! If you need your order urgently, please message us so we can upgrade your shipping (additional cost applied). Here is our blog about the shipping process and packaging. We do not ship outside of the continental United States.

*** All of our packages are sterilized before leaving the door.
  • We only ship out beautiful, healthy plants! Please track your package and open it immediately upon arrival. If you receive your package and are not satisfied, please message us immediately. Fragile plants such as bearpaw, baby toe, etc. may break or loose a few of their leaves during transport. Please contact us for replacements if your plants are severely damaged. We'll try our best to accommodate you. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grown in, depending on availability or time of year.
  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.

Love this

Came very well wrapped and bigger that I expected. Even tho I unwrapped carefully a few of the outer little balls fell off. I just tucked them into the cactus soil around the mother plant. Hoping they will root. Love the instruction card that comes along!

Good after a little fixing

The plant itself is cute , for the price it’s great! The packing is expected to protect it, and it was tightly wrapped but required a whole replanting to situate it correctly in the pot and get all the pieces of soil (not really enough ) out of the needles and back into the pot!

Excellent. Plants were dehydrated watered

Excellent. Plants were dehydrated watered and kept out of the sun as instructed. They have both perked up and fit nicely on my kitchen window. Blessings!
