  •   Rebutia Condorensis Cactus is a rare, drought-tolerant cactus native to the high-altitude mountain regions of Bolivia, where it grows in rocky, well-drained terrain under intense sun. This small clustering globe cactus has earned a devoted following among collectors worldwide for its compact size and beginner-friendly care profile.

It grows in a clustering globe form, producing tight mounds of small, ribbed, spherical stems covered in neat rows of fine spines. The compact, low-profile clusters spread outward over time, creating a textured, sculptural presence whether displayed solo or grouped with other rare succulents.

Come spring, Rebutia Condorensis produces a vivid burst of blooms that ring the base of each globe in classic Rebutia fashion. One key factor in triggering this floral display is a cool nighttime temperature drop during late winter, mimicking the plant's natural Bolivian mountain climate. Note that like other flowering cacti, it does produce pollen, so allergy-sensitive households may want to place it accordingly.

Move it outside for summer to soak up natural sun, but keep it sheltered from heavy rain to prevent root rot. Because it develops a deep root system, a heavy, stable pot is the right choice. You can leave it up to ten days without water. If you live in a mild climate, it can even stay outdoors into autumn.

  •   Rebutia Condorensis Cactus grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun with gradual acclimation to prevent stress.

Water it every 10-14 days during the growing season, reducing to once monthly or less through winter dormancy.

Rebutia Condorensis does best in a gritty, fast-draining cactus mix blended with 50 percent perlite or coarse pumice.

It prefers temperatures between 50-85°F and shows frost tolerance, though individual hardiness may vary.

Rebutia Condorensis is a slow to moderate clumping grower that benefits from a low-nitrogen, phosphorus-rich cactus fertilizer applied once monthly in spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, where winter temperatures rarely dip below 20-25°F. It grows outdoors in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, and Louisiana, as well as warmer pockets of Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal areas of Oregon and Washington. Growers in the warmer reaches of Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Carolina may also successfully cultivate it outdoors with minimal cold protection during mild winters.
  • Q: How often should I water Rebutia Condorensis Cactus?
A: Check the soil between waterings; it should dry out completely. Summer watering is more frequent than winter, when growth slows and water needs drop significantly.

Q: Is this plant safe around cats and dogs?
A: Rebutia Condorensis Cactus is non-toxic, but its spines pose a physical hazard to curious pets and small children. Placing it on a stable, elevated surface is a practical precaution.

Q: How do I get Rebutia Condorensis to flower reliably?
A: Expose it to a cool nighttime temperature drop of around 40-50°F during late winter, reduce watering during this rest period, and move it to a bright spot in early spring for the best results.

Q: How big does it get?
A: Rebutia Condorensis stays compact, with individual globes typically reaching just a few inches in diameter, though the clustering habit means the overall clump spreads wider over time.

Q: Can I propagate Rebutia Condorensis from offsets?
A: Yes, gently separate a pup that forms around the base of the mother plant, let the cut end callous for a day or two, then plant it in dry cactus mix and wait a week before watering.

Q: Does it handle neglect well during travel?
A: Rebutia Condorensis can go up to ten days without water.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
