  •   Echeveria runyonii 'Pink Edge' is a rosette succulent in the Crassulaceae family, native to the rocky, arid hillsides of northeastern Mexico. It evolved in sunny, fast-draining terrain where it developed the compact character that makes it suitable for bright windowsills and sunny patios.

The plant's signature look comes from plump, spoon-shaped leaves arranged in a tight, symmetrical rosette with soft silvery-blue tones and rosy-pink margins that deepen with more sun exposure. Each leaf is dusted with a powdery farina coating that gives it a frosted, almost luminous quality. As a clustering grower, it produces offsets around the base over time, gradually forming a fuller colony of rosettes.

In late spring to summer, it sends up arching flower stalks bearing small coral-to-orange blooms. A cool night temperature drop encourages better flowering, so placing it near a cool window in early spring helps trigger blooms.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside during warm months to soak up natural sun, then bring it back indoors before heavy autumn rains arrive. It is safe for cats and dogs, making it a suitable container plant for households with pets. The plant spreads gradually as new offsets emerge, so it works well in shallow bowls and saucers where the clustering habit can develop.

  •   Echeveria runyonii 'Pink Edge' grows well in bright indirect light to full direct sun, ideally 4–6 hours daily.

Water it deeply every 10–14 days in summer, cutting back to once a month in winter.

'Pink Edge' does best in a gritty, fast-draining mix such as cactus soil blended with 50% perlite.

It prefers temperatures between 65–80°F and should be protected below 25°F.

'Pink Edge' is a moderate, slow grower that benefits from a diluted balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9–11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. It can also overwinter outside along the mild Oregon coast and in sheltered pockets of New Mexico, while growers in cooler states like North Carolina, Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee, and beyond enjoy it as a seasonal patio plant brought indoors each autumn.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria runyonii 'Pink Edge'?
A: During warm months, let the soil dry out completely between waterings. In winter, once a month is sufficient.

Q: Is this plant safe for cats and dogs?
A: Echeveria runyonii 'Pink Edge' is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: How much light does 'Pink Edge' need indoors?
A: Place it where it receives at least 4–6 hours of bright light daily, including some direct sun from a south or east-facing window. Rotate it regularly so every side develops evenly.

Q: Can you propagate this plant?
A: 'Pink Edge' propagates easily from offsets. Gently twist off a healthy offset from the base, let the cut end callous for a day or two, then set it on dry cactus mix. Roots usually establish within two to three weeks.

Q: How large does 'Pink Edge' grow?
A: A single rosette reaches 4–6 inches across at maturity. As it produces offsets around the mother plant, the overall spread widens over time.

Q: What temperature range does this plant tolerate?
A: 'Pink Edge' prefers 65–80°F but can briefly handle dips to around 25°F. Sustained frost will damage it, so bring it indoors before winter arrives in cold climates.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
