  •   Echeveria 'Rosetta Nege' is a rare succulent in the Crassulaceae family, bred from the diverse Echeveria genus native to semi-arid regions of Mexico and Central America. Like its wild relatives, it evolved to grow in rocky, well-drained soils with plenty of sunshine and infrequent rainfall, making it a naturally tough plant.

'Rosetta Nege' forms a tight, symmetrical rosette with plump, spoon-shaped leaves that range in color from dusty rose to lavender-grey, often edged with a deeper blush. The leaves have a powdery farina coating that gives it a velvety appearance. Its clustering growth habit means it gradually produces offsets around the mother rosette, expanding into a small colony over time.

A cool night temperature drop in late winter or early spring encourages 'Rosetta Nege' to push up a bloom stalk with small pink or yellow flowers. The rosette structure itself remains the focal point year-round, with color intensifying under bright light.

Move it outside in summer and it can stay outside into autumn in mild climates, though it needs shelter from heavy rain to protect its leaves and roots from excess moisture. 'Rosetta Nege' is a collector succulent that is non-toxic and safe around cats and dogs. Its compact clustering form works well in dish gardens, window boxes, and decorative pots indoors or on desks.

  •   Echeveria 'Rosetta Nege' grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, though it can scorch in intense south-facing windows during summer.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days in summer and reduce to once a month in winter, always letting the soil dry completely between waterings.

'Rosetta Nege' performs best in a fast-draining cactus and perlite mix, combined at roughly 50/50 to prevent root rot.

It prefers temperatures between 60-80°F and should be protected from frost below 25°F.

'Rosetta Nege' is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from diluted balanced fertilizer once monthly during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, where temperatures rarely drop below 20-25°F. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal areas of Oregon and Washington. It also grows well in zone 8b microclimates in New Mexico, Arkansas, and parts of North Carolina and Virginia with seasonal protection. In cooler states including Colorado, Utah, Illinois, New York, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, and the broader Midwest and Northeast, it grows best as a container plant that spends summers outside and overwinters indoors.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria 'Rosetta Nege'?
A: During warm months, water every 10-14 days. In winter, reduce frequency to once a month. Let the soil dry out fully between waterings to prevent root rot.

Q: Does this plant work well for people with pets?
A: Echeveria 'Rosetta Nege' is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Q: What light conditions does 'Rosetta Nege' need?
A: It does best in bright indirect light to partial or full sun. An east or west-facing window works well. Rotate the pot regularly to encourage even, symmetrical rosette growth.

Q: Can I move this plant outside in warm months?
A: 'Rosetta Nege' grows outdoors during summer and can stay outside into autumn in mild climates. Shield it from heavy rain and bring it indoors before frost arrives.

Q: How do I propagate 'Rosetta Nege'?
A: Gently separate the offsets that form around the base of the mother plant. Let each offset callus for a day or two before planting it in fresh, well-draining succulent mix.

Q: Is this a suitable plant for collectors?
A: 'Rosetta Nege' is rarely found in mainstream garden centers. The leaves range from dusty rose to lavender-grey, and its compact rosette form appeals to collectors seeking uncommon echeveria varieties.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
