Succulents displayed in these terrariums thrive best in bright, indirect light. Hang them near a south- or east-facing window where they receive several hours of gentle sunlight each day. Direct, intense afternoon sun can scorch the foliage through the glass, so filtered light is ideal for keeping your plants healthy and their colors vibrant. 
Water sparingly, as glass terrariums without drainage holes retain moisture much longer than open pots. Allow the soil and sand to dry out completely between waterings, then add just a small amount of water directed at the base of the plant. Overwatering is the most common issue in closed or semi-closed glass vessels, so err on the side of less water rather than more. 
Most succulents suited for these terrariums prefer temperatures between 60°F and 80°F (15°C to 27°C), making them well suited to typical indoor environments year-round. Avoid placing the terrarium near air conditioning vents, heating units, or drafty windows, as sudden temperature swings can stress the plants. Glass can amplify heat, so monitor your plants during warm months to ensure they are not overheating. 
Feed the succulents in your terrarium once during the spring growing season using a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer formulated for succulents or cacti. Apply at half the recommended strength to avoid overfeeding in the confined space of a glass container. Skip fertilizing in fall and winter when the plants naturally slow their growth.
