Haworthia cymbiformis, also known as Cathedral Window Haworthia or Window Haworthia, is a drought-tolerant evergreen succulent with rosettes up to 3 inches (8 cm) tall and 4 inches (10 cm) in diameter.

Its pale green leaves are fleshy, bulbous, and tender with dark stripes running across the length of each leaf and turning translucent at the tip.

This species has flowers that are white or light pink with brown-green veins growing from 8 inches (20 cm) tall inflorescence.

Window Haworthia is a popular houseplant because it is super easy to grow and low maintenance. Whether you grow it indoors or outdoors, the growing conditions for this plant remain the same.

Bright, indirect light, partial shade.

Warm weather in the spring and fall are optimal for Window Haworthia. It can survive cool winter but will not do well under 40°F (4°C).

Porous, well-drained potting mix with sand, pumice or decomposed granite.

Water only when soil is dry to the touch. Let drain completely after each watering.

Feed with an all-purpose fertilizer once at the beginning of the growing season, diluted to 50% of the recommended dose.

Use offsets from the parent plant to grow new plants.

* Minimalist Pot Options: White/ Oatmeal/ Gray colors are randomly picked

* Grower pot option is plastic pot, the color of the plastic pot will be random (brown, black, white or green)

* We use 3.5 inch wide clay pots for 4" succulent plant + clay pot option.

Your plant will be carefully wrapped in a sturdy box. Most of the succulents will be shipped bare-root to ensure their safety. If you want to receive the plastic pot & soil, please leave a note in your order. When opening your package, some soil may be loose in the box. Plant orders are shipped within 3-5 days depending on the availability of the plant. We ship our plants Monday through Friday, all twelve months of the year! If you need your order urgently, please message us so we can upgrade your shipping (additional cost applied). We do not ship outside of the continental United States.

Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.

I ordered the Window Haworthia and it arrived perfectly. However I went to look at it to see if I needed to water it and when I touched the leaf it seemed very loose and fell right off. I touched another leaf and it fell off. The plant looks good but the leaves feel loose. What would cause that? Did I let it get too dry? Not enought light? Just curious what I am doing wrong....

I ordered these as well as a Haworthia Cooperi. I transplanted them both to a wide rectangle pot about 8 inches apart. They are not in direct sunlight. The Cooperi is doing great. It's nice and green. However, the Window Haworthia is turning a brown color. What would cause that?

How big a pot does hawthoria need to grow into decent size?

Hi Tupadre,

Haworthia window can grow up to 8” tall at maturity. A pot of 6-8” is recommended. However, we don’t suggest putting the succulent in a big pot right now. You should wait till it outgrows the old pot then repot it in a bigger one.

Help! I transferred mine to a decorative planter and it has started to dry out in the middle. How do I save it? What did I do wrong?

Hi Lucie,
Succulents or any plant don't really like to be moving around too much. The dry out in the leaves can be a result from damaging in the roots during transfering process, change of environment and condition. Please leave your succulent in an airy place with filtered sunlight and observe them for a few days. They might bounce back in no time.
