  •   Graptoveria 'Lovely Rose' is a rare Korean succulent hybrid in the Crassulaceae family, created by crossing Graptopetalum and Echeveria. This compact rosette succulent emerged as a collector favorite in Korea before spreading into the wider rare succulent market, earning recognition as a plant that performs well even with neglect.

'Lovely Rose' forms a tight, symmetrical rosette of plump, spoon-shaped leaves in soft shades of blush pink, lavender, and sage green, deepening to rose at the tips. A powdery farina coating covers the leaves, giving the whole plant a soft, muted appearance. As a clustering succulent, it slowly offsets and spreads into a dense clump over time.

Small star-shaped blooms appear on slender stems when temperatures drop in late winter or early spring, though outdoor placement in autumn with cool nights offers the best chance of triggering the flowering cycle.

'Lovely Rose' survives up to ten days without water. It works well on a sunny windowsill, patio container, or summer garden display, though it needs protection from rain to preserve the farina coating and prevent rot. The plant is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs, making it suitable for households with pets.

  •   Graptoveria 'Lovely Rose' grows well in bright indirect light to partial or full sun, ideally near an east or west-facing window.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days during the growing season, reducing to once every 3-4 weeks in winter; slight leaf wrinkling indicates it needs water.

'Lovely Rose' grows best in a gritty, fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with perlite or coarse pumice.

It prefers temperatures between 60-85°F and requires protection from frost and freezing conditions.

'Lovely Rose' is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from a diluted balanced fertilizer applied once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, where winter temperatures stay above roughly 20-25°F. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and the Oregon and Washington coasts. Gardeners across the rest of the United States, from New York and Illinois to Colorado and the Pacific Northwest interior, enjoy it as an indoor or patio plant brought inside before the first frost.
  • Q: How often should I water Graptoveria 'Lovely Rose'?
A: During the growing season, water when the top inch of soil is dry. In winter, extend the interval between waterings as growth slows and water demand drops.

Q: Is this plant safe around cats and dogs?
A: Graptoveria 'Lovely Rose' is non-toxic and safe for pets.

Q: Does 'Lovely Rose' need full sun to thrive?
A: It tolerates a range of light conditions from bright indirect light to full sun; east or west-facing windows provide ideal exposure without risk of leaf burn.

Q: Can I move it outdoors for the summer?
A: Move 'Lovely Rose' outdoors to a bright spot with afternoon shade. Bring it under cover or to a sheltered area when rain is expected to protect the farina coating.

Q: How do I propagate 'Lovely Rose'?
A: Remove offsets at the base of the mother rosette or take individual leaf cuttings; allow cut surfaces to dry for one to two days, place them on dry gritty soil, and mist lightly until roots form.

Q: What makes this succulent so rare in the plant market?
A: 'Lovely Rose' originated in Korea and took time to reach wider cultivation, keeping availability limited compared to common echeveria types.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
