  •   Haworthia attenuata Enon, also called zebra haworthia, is a rare compact succulent in the Asphodelaceae family native to South Africa's Eastern Cape region. It forms tight rosettes of dark green, lance-shaped leaves covered in raised white tubercles that create a zebra-like banding pattern, and the Enon form is especially noted for its vivid, well-defined markings.

Individual rosettes stay compact at 3–5 inches in diameter, with a clumping growth habit that gradually fills its pot with multiple rosettes over time. The white tubercles stand out against the dark foliage, creating strong contrast. As offsets emerge from the base of the mother rosette, it becomes an increasingly full display without demanding extra space or attention.

It releases oxygen at night, making it suitable for bedrooms and indoor spaces where air circulation matters. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

Move it outside in summer to a bright, sheltered spot with indirect light, but bring it in or cover it during rain. Separate the offsets that form at the base and pot them individually in well-draining succulent mix for straightforward propagation. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs. The slow growth rate means minimal fertilizing is needed—a light balanced application once in spring and once in summer is all it requires.

  •   Haworthia attenuata Enon grows well in medium light or bright indirect light and tolerates partial sun, but scorches in harsh south-facing windows.

Water it every 2–3 weeks in spring and summer, reducing to once a month in winter, always letting the soil dry fully between waterings.

Haworthia Enon does best in fast-draining cactus and succulent soil combined with extra perlite at a 1:1 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65–85°F and should be protected from frost below 40°F.

Haworthia Enon is a slow-growing succulent that needs only a light balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9–11 and tolerates outdoor growth where winter temperatures stay above 20°F. It grows outdoors year-round in southern and coastal regions including California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. It also grows well in coastal Oregon and Washington, and parts of New Mexico, Arkansas, and the coastal Carolinas.
  • Q: How often should I water Haworthia attenuata Enon?
A: Every 2–3 weeks during the growing season with complete soil drying between waterings. In winter, reduce to roughly once a month to prevent root rot from excess moisture.

Q: Is this plant safe for cats and dogs?
A: Haworthia attenuata Enon is non-toxic and safe for households with pets.

Q: What light does Haworthia Enon need indoors?
A: A few feet back from an east or west-facing window works well. It also grows under office LED lighting, making it adaptable to different indoor spaces.

Q: How large does it stay?
A: Haworthia Enon rosettes typically reach 3–5 inches in diameter and remain compact. The plant offsets and forms an attractive clump over time but stays manageable in size.

Q: Can Haworthia Enon propagate easily?
A: Separate the offsets that form at the base of the mother rosette and pot them individually in well-draining succulent mix. Allow the cut end to callous for a day or two before planting.

Q: Will harsh afternoon sun damage the foliage?
A: Haworthia Enon can scorch in intense south-facing windows with direct afternoon light. East or west-facing placement keeps the white markings sharp without leaf damage.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
