  •   Echeveria 'Yummie' is a succulent hybrid in the Crassulaceae family, bred from Echeveria species native to the semi-arid highlands of Mexico and Central America. Like its wild relatives, it evolved to grow in bright, dry conditions with excellent drainage and plenty of airflow, making it a beginner-friendly succulent for indoor and outdoor settings.

It forms a compact, symmetrical rosette with softly pointed, spoon-shaped leaves in silvery-green tones blushed with pink and lilac at the tips. The pastel leaf colors intensify with more sun exposure, and the clustering growth habit means one plant gradually becomes a full display over time. Rosettes typically reach 3–5 inches across and multiply slowly outward from the base.

Cool nighttime temperature drops encourage blooming, and patient growers can expect cheerful flower stalks rising from the rosette during the growing season. Beyond flowers, it is completely non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outdoors for summer to encourage richer color development, but always shelter it from rain since sitting water in the rosette can cause rot. Keep it away from direct air conditioning or heater vents, and give it a quarter turn every week or two for even growth.

  •   Echeveria 'Yummie' grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun, ideally near a south- or east-facing window.

Water it deeply every 10–14 days in summer and every 3–4 weeks in winter, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

'Yummie' does best in a fast-draining mix of cactus soil blended with perlite at roughly a 50/50 ratio to prevent root rot.

It prefers temperatures between 60–80°F and should be brought indoors before nights drop below 40°F.

'Yummie' grows at a moderate pace and benefits from a diluted balanced succulent fertilizer applied once monthly during spring and summer only.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9–11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F but preferring frost-free conditions year-round. It grows outdoors in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, and Georgia. It also grows in warmer pockets of South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Oregon's coast, and parts of New Mexico and Arkansas that sit within those zones.
  • Q: How often should I water Echeveria 'Yummie'?
A: During the growing season, water when the top inch of soil is dry. In winter, extend the interval between waterings as the plant enters dormancy and needs significantly less moisture.

Q: Is this succulent safe around cats and dogs?
A: Echeveria 'Yummie' is non-toxic and completely safe for cats and dogs.

Q: Can 'Yummie' survive indoors, or does it need outdoor space?
A: It can live indoors year-round on a sunny windowsill, though outdoor summer placement develops deeper pink and lilac tones in the leaves.

Q: What happens if it gets too much water?
A: Overwatering causes root rot, especially if water sits in the rosette center. The leaves become soft and translucent before the plant collapses. Ensure the pot has drainage holes and let soil dry completely between waterings.

Q: How big does 'Yummie' get, and how fast does it grow?
A: Individual rosettes reach 3–5 inches across and grow slowly. It offsets gradually, creating a clustering mat effect over one to two years in a container.

Q: Can I propagate offsets from the mother plant?
A: Yes. Offsets form around the base of 'Yummie'. Gently separate a healthy offset, let it callous for one to two days, then plant it in well-draining succulent mix.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
