  •   Echeveria Vampire Red Ball is a rare hybrid succulent from the Crassulaceae family, developed through Korean breeding lines and rooted in the drought-tolerant genetics of Mexican and Central American echeverias. It inherited the sun-loving, fast-draining habitat preferences of its wild ancestors, naturally adapted to bright light and lean soils.

'Vampire Red Ball' forms a tight, globe-like rosette of thick, fleshy leaves that deepen into blood-red under strong light. The plump, slightly cupped leaves have smooth edges and catch light cleanly, staying compact and symmetrical at two to four inches across as a single rosette. As a clustering grower, it gradually produces offsets around the base, slowly building into a multi-rosette display over time.

In late winter or early spring, cool nighttime temperature drops can trigger blooming on slender arching stems. The blood-red leaf color intensifies throughout the growing season under bright direct light. You can leave it up to ten days without water.

'Vampire Red Ball' is non-toxic to cats and dogs. Propagate it most reliably by separating offsets once they develop a small root system, though leaf propagation is possible but slower.

  •   Echeveria Vampire Red Ball grows well in bright indirect light or partial sun, with four to six hours of direct sunlight intensifying the blood-red leaf color.

Water it deeply every ten to fourteen days in summer and reduce to once every three to four weeks in winter, letting the soil dry completely between waterings.

'Vampire Red Ball' does best in a gritty, fast-draining mix of cactus soil blended with perlite or pumice at roughly fifty to seventy percent inorganic content.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 80°F and should be brought indoors before temperatures drop below 40°F.

'Vampire Red Ball' is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from a light, diluted succulent fertilizer once a month during the active spring and summer season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, where winter temperatures stay above 25–30°F. It grows outdoors year-round in southern Florida, coastal California, southern Nevada, Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. It also survives in warmer pockets of the Pacific Northwest, Hawaii, and sheltered spots along the Oregon coast.
  • Q: How much light does Echeveria Vampire Red Ball need?
A: East or west-facing windows provide steady bright light without the risk of leaf scorch that south-facing exposure sometimes causes. A shaded outdoor spot works equally well during the growing season.

Q: Is it safe around cats and dogs?
A: Echeveria Vampire Red Ball is non-toxic and completely safe for cats and dogs.

Q: How big does 'Vampire Red Ball' get?
A: A single rosette stays compact at two to four inches across, though offsets gradually cluster around the base to fill a pot over time.

Q: When should I water it?
A: 'Vampire Red Ball' is ready to water when the soil feels bone-dry and the leaves look slightly less plump than usual.

Q: Can you propagate 'Vampire Red Ball' from leaves?
A: Offsets are the fastest and most reliable method, separated gently once they have a small root system. Leaf propagation is possible but slower.

Q: Will the leaves stay red year-round indoors?
A: 'Vampire Red Ball' deepens to blood-red primarily under four to six hours of bright direct light. Indoor windowsill placement in low light will shift leaves toward green-tinged tones.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
