  •   Crassula Jade Necklace, also called Jade Plant, is a trailing succulent from the Crassula genus native to South Africa's rocky, arid regions. This plant evolved in dry, sun-drenched environments where excellent drainage and scarce rainfall shaped its water-storing leaves and drought tolerance. It has gained popularity with collectors and casual plant lovers for its sculptural form and low-maintenance nature.

The leaves stack tightly along slim trailing stems in a geometric pattern that resembles a beaded vine or string of charms. They are green and fleshy, developing reddish edges when exposed to plenty of light. Growth is both trailing and upright, making it adaptable to hanging displays, shelves, or pots.

Small star-shaped flowers appear in cooler months when nighttime temperatures drop. It releases oxygen at night, making it suitable for a bedroom. It tolerates drought for extended periods and can survive up to ten days without water.

Display it in a hanging basket or on a high shelf to showcase its trailing form. Move it outside in summer to a warm, sunny spot; shelter it from heavy rain to prevent root oversaturation. Keep it away from cats, dogs, and small children, as the sap causes skin and paw irritation and ingestion is harmful. Crassula Jade propagates easily from stem cuttings that root within a few weeks in dry succulent soil.

  •   Crassula Jade Necklace grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or direct sun but may scorch in intense south-facing windows.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days during spring and summer, and reduce to once monthly in winter.

Crassula Jade does best in a well-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with perlite for extra aeration.

It prefers temperatures between 60-80°F and should be protected from frost below 30°F.

Crassula Jade is a moderate grower that benefits from balanced diluted fertilizer once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 through 11, tolerating brief dips to around 25-30°F but growing well in frost-free conditions. It grows outdoors in California, Florida, Hawaii, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and coastal Oregon. Warmer pockets of North Carolina and Arkansas, plus parts of New Mexico, also fall within these zones.
  • Q: How often should I water Crassula Jade Necklace?
A: Every 10-14 days during spring and summer; let the soil dry completely between waterings to prevent root rot. Cut back to once monthly in winter.

Q: Is this plant safe for cats and dogs?
A: Crassula Jade Necklace is toxic to pets. The sap irritates skin and paws, and ingestion is harmful, so place it on a high shelf or hanging hook out of reach.

Q: What kind of light does Crassula Jade need to show its best color?
A: Bright indirect to direct sunlight brings out red edge tones on the leaves. Rotate it regularly for even growth on all sides, and move it back if leaves begin to pale or thin out.

Q: How fast does it grow?
A: Crassula Jade grows at a moderate pace, typically elongating noticeably over a single growing season with good light and proper watering.

Q: Can Jade Plant be propagated easily?
A: Snip a healthy stem, let the cut callous for a day or two, then place it in dry succulent soil; roots appear within a few weeks.

Q: Does it grow outdoors in warm climates?
A: Jade Plant grows outside in summer and grows faster and more colorful in a warm, sunny spot. Bring it indoors before autumn temperatures drop.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
