The Calla Lily belongs to the genus Zantedeschia and the Arum family (Araceae). It is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial. Calla Lilies are native to Southern Africa, where they can be found growing in a variety of moist habitats, including marshes and along the banks of streams.
While the classic Zantedeschia aethiopica is famously pure white (often called the Arum Lily), modern hybrids are available in a vibrant rainbow of colors, including yellow, orange, pink, deep red, purple, and near-black.
