  •   Sedeveria Jet Beads is a hybrid succulent created by crossing plants from the Sedum and Echeveria genera, both native to rocky, sun-drenched regions of Mexico and Central America. The compact succulent clusters into upright rosettes and grows in the same bright, dry conditions its wild relatives call home.

The plant earns its name from deep, glossy leaves that form tight, upright rosettes resembling strands of dark gemstones. Foliage shifts from green to burgundy or near-black depending on light intensity and seasonal stress. Leaves are plump, slightly elongated, and arranged in neat symmetrical patterns that multiply into a clumping display over time.

With the right conditions, including a nighttime temperature drop, 'Jet Beads' produces small star-shaped flowers typical of the Sedeveria genus. Each new offset adds to the overall rosette display, whether blooms appear or not.

'Jet Beads' works well on sunny windowsills, outdoor patios, and summer container gardens. Move it outside for summer as long as it stays sheltered from heavy rain. It handles dry heated indoor air and grows under bright office LEDs. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Individual rosettes typically reach 3 to 5 inches across, and the plant propagates easily from offsets or leaf cuttings.

  •   Sedeveria Jet Beads grows in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun, but may scorch in intense south-facing windows during summer.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days in summer and reduce to once a month in winter, allowing soil to dry completely between waterings.

'Jet Beads' does best in a fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with perlite or coarse sand for added drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 65-80°F and is frost-tender, tolerating brief dips no lower than 25-30°F.

'Jet Beads' is a slow to moderate grower and needs only a light balanced fertilizer once or twice during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating light frost down to around 25-30°F with some protection. It grows outdoors year-round in warm states including California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. It may succeed outdoors in sheltered pockets of the Oregon coast, New Mexico, and Arkansas, though container growing with winter protection is recommended wherever frost is possible.
  • Q: How often should I water Sedeveria Jet Beads?
A: Water deeply every 10-14 days in warm months and cut back to once a month in winter. The soil should dry out completely between waterings to prevent root rot.

Q: Is this plant safe around cats and dogs?
A: Sedeveria Jet Beads is non-toxic and safe for homes with cats and dogs.

Q: How much light does 'Jet Beads' need?
A: Rotate it regularly for even growth and avoid prolonged direct exposure in south-facing windows during summer heat. It can tolerate partial shade but colors deepen with more light intensity.

Q: How do I propagate this plant?
A: 'Jet Beads' propagates easily from offsets or leaf cuttings. Simply separate a healthy offset or leaf, let it callous for a day or two, then place it on well-draining succulent soil.

Q: How big does 'Jet Beads' get?
A: Individual rosettes typically reach 3 to 5 inches across. Over time it forms a cluster of multiple rosettes as offsets fill in around the mother plant.

Q: Can this plant survive outdoors year-round?
A: 'Jet Beads' survives outdoors year-round in warm climates like California, Arizona, and Florida. In colder areas it can move outside for summer but needs to come indoors before frost arrives.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
