  •   Echeveria Purple Pearl (Echeveria cv.) is a hybrid succulent rosette in the Crassulaceae family, developed from Echeveria crosses and widely grown as an indoor and outdoor ornamental. It originates from hybrid cultivation rooted in the genus native to semi-arid regions of Mexico and Central America.

'Purple Pearl' forms a compact rosette of fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves coated in a powdery farina. The leaves are lavender to soft purple-gray, with edges that flush deeper purple or pink under bright light. Each rosette grows to roughly 6 inches across, with leaves arranged in tight, symmetrical layers.

It produces slender arching stems in spring or early summer, tipped with small coral to orange-pink bell-shaped flowers. A drop in nighttime temperature in late winter can encourage flowering. This plant is pet friendly, so it sits safely in rooms with cats and dogs.

Rotate 'Purple Pearl' every week or two to keep growth even on all sides. You can move it outside in summer, though it needs cover from rain to prevent root rot. Avoid placing it directly in front of an air conditioner or heater vent, though it handles dry heated indoor air without trouble. You can leave it up to ten days without water, which means it comes back to a healthy plant after a trip.

  •   Echeveria Purple Pearl grows well in bright indirect light to direct morning sun, rotating the pot regularly for even growth.

Water it every 10 to 14 days in the growing season, letting the soil dry out completely between waterings, and reduce to once a month in winter.

'Purple Pearl' does best in a gritty, well-draining cactus and perlite mix, with a pot that has drainage holes.

It prefers temperatures between 60°F and 80°F and should not drop below 40°F, staying away from cold drafts and AC vents.

'Purple Pearl' is a slow-growing succulent, reaching about 6 inches wide at maturity, with a light balanced fertilizer applied once in spring.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9 to 11, tolerating outdoor conditions down to around 25°F to 30°F for very brief periods. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Nevada, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, and Hawaii. It can also stay outdoors through autumn in zone 8 states like Oregon and Washington before temperatures drop.
  • Q: Is Echeveria Purple Pearl safe for cats and dogs?
A: Yes, it is non-toxic and pet friendly, safe to keep in homes with cats and dogs.

Q: How do I know when this succulent needs water?
A: Echeveria Purple Pearl will show slightly wilted or softer leaves when the soil has been dry long enough for water. Overwatering causes mushy, translucent leaves and root rot far faster than underwatering.

Q: How much light does 'Purple Pearl' need?
A: A bright east- or west-facing window works well. A south-facing window can scorch the farina-coated leaves, especially in summer, so keep it a foot or two back from the glass or diffuse the light with a sheer curtain.

Q: How fast does this succulent grow?
A: 'Purple Pearl' is a slow grower and may take several years to reach its full 6-inch spread indoors.

Q: Can 'Purple Pearl' survive while I'm away on a trip?
A: It can go up to ten days without water, so a short trip is not a problem as long as the soil is dry before you leave.

Q: Can this succulent be propagated at home?
A: 'Purple Pearl' propagates from individual leaves or offsets. Gently twist a lower leaf cleanly from the stem, let it callous for a day or two, then place it on dry succulent soil and mist lightly every few days until roots appear.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
