  •   Crassula Orbicularis is a rosette succulent native to the rocky slopes and grasslands of South Africa. It belongs to the Crassula genus, a group known for toughness and minimal care requirements, making it an excellent choice for both beginners and experienced collectors.

The plant forms tight, symmetrical rosettes of rounded, spoon-shaped leaves with slightly textured green surfaces. It stays compact while spreading gradually outward, maintaining an upright rosette habit. The geometric precision of its form distinguishes it among other drought-tolerant succulents.

Small, star-shaped flowers in white to pale pink appear on slender upright stalks, typically blooming in late winter to spring. Cooler nighttime temperatures encourage the strongest flowering.

Move it outside in summer to a bright, sheltered spot; bring it back indoors before frost arrives. Rotate it occasionally for even growth and keep it away from direct AC or heating vents. It adapts well to a bright windowsill, sunny patio, or well-lit office with LED lighting. You can leave it up to ten days without water. It is sensitive to being moved frequently, so once positioned, allow it to remain in place.

  •   Crassula Orbicularis grows well in bright indirect light and can scorch in intense south-facing windows.

Water it thoroughly every 10-14 days in summer, less in winter, and let soil dry completely between waterings.

Crassula Orbicularis performs best in a gritty, fast-draining succulent or cactus mix amended with perlite.

It prefers temperatures between 60-80°F and is not frost tolerant below 30°F.

Crassula Orbicularis is a slow to moderate grower that needs fertilizing only once or twice during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating brief dips to around 30°F but not sustained frost. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Nevada, Hawaii, and Florida, as well as Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, and South Carolina. Along milder coastal stretches of Oregon and in parts of New Mexico and Arkansas dipping into zones 7b-8, it is best treated as a seasonal outdoor plant or brought inside before winter.
  • Q: How often should I water Crassula Orbicularis?
A: Every 10-14 days in the growing season, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. In winter, reduce watering to once every three to four weeks.

Q: Is it safe for cats and dogs?
A: No. Crassula Orbicularis may be harmful if ingested by cats or dogs, so keep it on a high shelf out of reach of curious pets and toddlers.

Q: Can Crassula Orbicularis go outside in summer?
A: Yes. Move it to a bright, sheltered spot outdoors. Protect it from heavy rain and bring it back inside before temperatures drop near freezing.

Q: How do I know when it needs water?
A: Crassula Orbicularis will develop slightly soft or lightly wilting leaves. Once you notice this, give it a thorough watering and it will perk back up quickly.

Q: How do I propagate Crassula Orbicularis?
A: Propagate from offsets or leaf cuttings. Allow cuttings to callous for a day or two, then place them on well-draining succulent mix and keep lightly misted until roots form.

Q: What window placement works best for bright indirect light?
A: Crassula Orbicularis does well in east or west-facing windows set back from the glass, or a few feet away from a bright south-facing window. Avoid placing it directly against south-facing glass where afternoon sun can burn the leaves.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
