The Begonia 'Black Magic' is a hybrid perennial plant, typically classified as a cane-like or angel wing type of Begonia. Its ancestors are tropical Begonia species native to Central and South America.
The most striking feature is its foliage. The large, wing-shaped leaves display a deep green-black, almost velvety coloration that gives the plant its name. They are often adorned with unique, raised dots that add a pebbled texture.
This plant produces clusters of small, delicate pink or white flowers, typically emerging in the summer. While lovely, the flowers are often considered secondary to the magnificent foliage.
