  •   Adromischus Filicaulis ssp. Marlothii Crassula is a rare South African succulent from the Crassulaceae family, native to rocky, arid terrain where drought tolerance is essential. It belongs in any serious crassulaceae collection.

The plant forms compact clumping rosettes with thick, fleshy leaves that have a distinctly warty, textured surface in soft grey-green to silvery tones. It has a trailing growth habit, creating a relaxed, cascading structure that looks attractive in a hanging planter or displayed on a shelf edge. Its low, clumping form and slow-growing nature distinguish it among other succulents.

A nighttime temperature drop during cooler months encourages blooming, so positioning it near a cooler window in autumn can trigger flowering. Move it outside in autumn before temperatures dip too low, giving it the natural seasonal cues it responds to best. The plant can remain outdoors as long as conditions allow, then transition back inside as frost approaches.

This drought tolerant succulent stays outdoors in summer, but keep it sheltered from direct rain since waterlogged soil causes root rot. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it a pet-friendly choice for households with animals. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Leaf cuttings and stem cuttings both propagate easily; allow the cut end to callous for a day or two before placing it on dry, well-draining soil.

  •   Adromischus Filicaulis ssp. Marlothii Crassula grows well in bright indirect light or partial sun, and scorches easily in harsh south-facing direct sun.

Water it every 10-14 days during summer, cutting back to once a month in winter when growth slows.

Adromischus Marlothii does best in fast-draining cactus and perlite mix to prevent root rot.

It prefers temperatures between 50-80°F and should be protected from frost below 25°F.

Adromischus Marlothii is a slow-growing succulent that needs only a light, balanced fertilizer once in spring.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, where winter temperatures stay above 25-30°F. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and Nevada. It also succeeds in warmer southern regions of Nevada, parts of the Oregon coast, and areas of New Mexico and Arkansas that border zone 9 with cold-season shelter.
  • Q: Is Adromischus Filicaulis ssp. Marlothii Crassula pet friendly?
A: It is non-toxic to cats and dogs, making it safe for pet-loving households.

Q: How do I avoid root rot?
A: Adromischus Filicaulis ssp. Marlothii Crassula needs well-draining soil and shelter from rain when outdoors. Check the soil with your finger before watering; only water when the top inch feels completely dry.

Q: What window placement works best for Adromischus Marlothii indoors?
A: An east or west-facing window with bright indirect light works well. Direct south-facing sun causes the leaf edges to turn papery and brown.

Q: How fast does Adromischus Marlothii grow?
A: Adromischus Marlothii grows slowly and can take several years to reach mature size.

Q: Can Adromischus Marlothii survive outdoors year-round?
A: Only in USDA zones 9-11; zones 9-10 require shelter from frost, and it must move indoors where winters drop below 25°F.

Q: How do I propagate this plant?
A: Adromischus Marlothii reproduces easily from leaf or stem cuttings. Allow the cut end to dry and form a protective callous for one to two days before setting it on dry, well-draining soil.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
