Maranta Lemon Lime, also called Prayer Plant, is a tropical foliage plant from the rainforests of Brazil, belonging to the family Marantaceae. It grows naturally on the forest floor beneath the canopy, where filtered light and high humidity shape its leaf structure and growth habits.

The leaves are broad and oval, patterned with bright yellow-green stripes running along a central midrib, set against a medium green base. The undersides carry a pale, muted green tone, and the surface has a slightly textured, almost velvety feel. Maranta Lemon Lime stays low and spreading, with stems that arch outward rather than growing upright, and each leaf folds upward in the evening through nyctinasty, a natural light-response movement.

It occasionally produces small, white to pale lilac flowers on slender stems, though blooms appear infrequently indoors and are not the main draw of the plant. Maranta Lemon Lime is also known for purifying indoor air and naturally humidifying the space around it as part of its normal transpiration process.

You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
