  •   Graptoveria Bashful is a hybrid succulent from the Crassulaceae family, bred from a cross between Graptopetalum and Echeveria. It originates from the rocky, sun-drenched landscapes of Mexico and Central America. It forms tight, symmetrical rosettes and suits both beginner and collector gardeners.

The plant has plump, spoon-shaped leaves that shift from soft green to rosy pink at the tips when exposed to sunlight. As a clumping rosette succulent, it produces offsets over time, gradually filling a pot with layered rosettes. Individual rosettes typically reach about 3 to 5 inches in diameter at maturity, though the overall plant cluster can spread wider as it develops.

It needs a nighttime temperature drop to trigger blooming. Rotate the pot regularly so every side develops an even, symmetrical shape. You can leave it up to ten days without water. Move it outside in summer to soak up natural sun, and cover it from heavy rain to protect the rosettes.

It is pet friendly and non-toxic to cats and dogs. Propagate it easily from leaf cuttings or by separating the naturally produced offsets. Let cut ends callous for a day or two before placing them on dry succulent soil. Individual leaves root readily when given the right conditions.

  •   Graptoveria Bashful grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, with a few hours of direct sun daily bringing out its best rosy-pink color.

Water it every 10 to 14 days in summer and every 3 to 4 weeks in winter, letting the soil dry completely between waterings.

'Bashful' does best in a gritty, fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with perlite at a 50/50 ratio.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 80°F and should be protected from frost below 32°F.

'Bashful' is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from a diluted balanced fertilizer once in spring and once in early summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 10 and 11. It grows outdoors year-round in Hawaii, southern Florida, frost-free pockets of coastal Southern California including the greater Los Angeles and San Diego areas, parts of the lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas, southern Arizona near Tucson and Yuma, and the southernmost tip of Nevada. Everywhere else, it grows as a container succulent that spends summers outside and winters safely indoors.
  • Q: Is Graptoveria Bashful pet friendly?
A: It is non-toxic to cats and dogs and safe for households with curious pets.

Q: What happens if I overwater it?
A: Graptoveria Bashful develops root rot if the soil stays wet. Always ensure the soil dries completely between waterings, and use a pot with drainage holes.

Q: What window placement brings out the most color in 'Bashful'?
A: A south or east-facing windowsill with direct morning or afternoon sun develops the deepest rosy-pink hue. Leaf tips may scorch on intense south-facing windows in peak summer.

Q: How do I propagate it?
A: Separate the offsets 'Bashful' naturally produces as it clumps, or take individual leaves and let the cut ends callous for a day or two before placing them on dry succulent soil.

Q: How big does 'Bashful' get?
A: A single rosette typically reaches about 3 to 5 inches in diameter at maturity. The overall plant cluster spreads wider as it produces offsets over time.

Q: Can it survive without water for extended periods?
A: 'Bashful' can go without water for up to ten days. Water thoroughly before travel and place it in a bright spot.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
