  •   Crassula Falcata, also called Propeller Plant, is a succulent in the Crassulaceae family native to South Africa. It grows naturally on rocky, sun-drenched slopes where dry conditions prevail, adapting well to indoor and outdoor growing across a wide range of climates.

The leaves are gray-green to blue-gray, sickle-shaped, and arrange in opposite pairs that twist and stack along an upright stem, creating a propeller-like form. The fleshy leaves have a powdery, chalky texture and reach several inches long. It grows in an upright, clumping habit, gradually forming dense clusters that fill a pot.

In late summer to early autumn, it produces clusters of small scarlet to orange-red flowers on tall stems with a light, pleasant fragrance. A nighttime temperature drop in late summer is key to triggering blooms, so placement near a window where temperatures dip slightly at night encourages flowering.

Move it outside in summer to a bright, sheltered spot with good airflow. Bring it back indoors before autumn temperatures drop, and cover it from heavy rain to prevent moisture issues. Keep it out of reach of small children and pets, as ingestion can be harmful.

  •   Crassula Falcata Propeller Plant grows well in bright indirect light to full sun, though it may scorch in intense south-facing windows during peak summer.

Water it deeply every 10-14 days in summer, reducing to once a month in winter, allowing soil to dry fully between waterings.

Crassula Falcata does best in a fast-draining cactus and succulent mix blended with perlite or coarse sand for added drainage.

It prefers temperatures between 65-80°F and should be protected from frost below 25°F.

Crassula Falcata is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from a balanced liquid fertilizer applied once monthly during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9-11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F but preferring frost-free conditions year-round. It grows outdoors in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, and along the Oregon coast. Parts of New Mexico, Arkansas, and coastal North Carolina also fall within these zones, making year-round outdoor growing possible in those regions.
  • Q: How often should I water Crassula Falcata Propeller Plant?
A: During the growing season, allow the soil to dry completely between waterings. In winter, reduce frequency to prevent root rot from sitting moisture.

Q: Is it safe around pets?
A: Crassula Falcata Propeller Plant can be harmful if ingested by pets and should be placed well out of reach of cats and dogs.

Q: How much light does Crassula Falcata need?
A: Place it on a sunny windowsill or outdoor patio where it receives bright light for most of the day. Rotate it regularly so all sides receive even light and the plant grows upright and balanced.

Q: How do I get my plant to bloom?
A: Crassula Falcata flowers best when exposed to cool nighttime temperatures in late summer. Moving it near a window where temperatures dip slightly at night encourages flowering.

Q: How do I propagate Propeller Plant?
A: Propagate from stem or leaf cuttings allowed to callous for a day or two before being placed in dry succulent soil. New growth typically appears within a few weeks in warm, bright conditions.

Q: Can I move this plant outside for the summer?
A: Propeller Plant thrives outdoors in a bright, sheltered spot with good airflow during warm months. Cover it from heavy rain and bring it back indoors before temperatures drop in autumn.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
