  •   Anacampseros telephiastrum f. variegatum, also called Anacampseros 'Sunrise', is a rare colorful succulent native to the arid rocky regions of South Africa and a member of the Anacampserotaceae family. It grows naturally in sun-drenched landscapes with fast-draining soils and is collected worldwide for its visually striking appearance.

Anacampseros telephiastrum f. variegatum forms tight, jewel-like rosettes packed with fleshy, spoon-shaped leaves in green, pink, and purple tones that shift with light exposure. The variegated leaves are edged with white filaments, giving each rosette a soft, feathery texture. As it matures, the plant develops a clustering and gently trailing habit that works well in shallow dishes or small hanging pots, staying compact enough for desktop or shelf placement.

It produces small, magenta-pink blooms that typically open in the afternoon during summer months, with each flower lasting only a few hours. Blooms appear when the plant experiences a nighttime temperature drop, particularly when moved outdoors for summer where cooler nights naturally trigger flowering. It is non-toxic and safe for cats and dogs.

Rotate it regularly for even, symmetrical growth, and keep it away from air conditioning or heater vents. When moved outside, shelter it from rain to prevent root rot. You can leave it up to ten days without water. The plant propagates readily from leaf cuttings or by separating offset rosettes from the base; let cuttings callous for a day or two before placing them on dry succulent mix.

  •   Anacampseros Telephiastrum f. Variegatum grows well in bright indirect light, partial sun, or full sun with gradual acclimation to avoid leaf scorch.

Water it every 10–14 days in summer and every 3–4 weeks in winter, letting the soil dry completely between waterings.

Anacampseros telephiastrum f. variegatum does best in a gritty, fast-draining succulent mix blended with perlite or coarse sand at roughly 50/50.

It prefers temperatures between 65–85°F and requires protection from frost below 25°F.

Anacampseros telephiastrum f. variegatum is a slow to moderate grower that benefits from diluted balanced fertilizer once monthly during the active growing season.

It is hardy in USDA zones 9–11, tolerating brief dips to around 25°F but requiring frost protection below that threshold. It grows outdoors year-round in California, Arizona, Texas, Florida, Hawaii, Nevada, Louisiana, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi. Portions of Oregon, North Carolina, and parts of the Pacific Northwest coast also fall within these zones.

    🌵 For Succulents
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging right away and follow the care instructions included with your order. Succulents prefer to dry out between waterings, so only water when the soil is completely dry.
Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
