The leaves are bead-like ovals striped with translucent lines that resemble tiny watermelon rinds, giving the plant its common name. The vines trail for several feet, making it a cascading succulent well-suited to hanging baskets and high shelves. Leaf color shifts from green to softer tones depending on light intensity and seasonal changes. 
Small brush-like flowers appear in white to pale yellow during spring or summer, often triggered by a slight drop in nighttime temperatures. The blooms carry a faint, lightly sweet fragrance. 
Move it outside to a sheltered spot in summer, but protect it from heavy rainfall since excess moisture leads to rot. Rotate the pot regularly so all sides receive even light exposure.
