The leaves are narrow, elongated, and curved inward along their length, resembling small green beans or pea pods. Each leaf is lime green with a darker translucent window stripe running along the top, and the stems grow upright in a compact, bushy form. Happy Bean stays relatively small, typically reaching 6 to 10 inches tall, with leaves clustered densely along each stem.
It produces thin, pale green flower spikes that emerge from the stem tips, though the blooms are very small and carry no fragrance. Flowering can occur at various points through the year without a strict seasonal pattern. Happy Bean is pet friendly, and it also purifies indoor air by filtering airborne toxins including formaldehyde.
Keep it away from south-facing windows, where direct sun scorches the leaves, and position it away from air conditioning or heating vents.
