The leaves are thick, fleshy, and triangular, forming a tight rosette that stays compact even at full maturity. The leaf color runs from deep olive-green to dark bronze-brown, deepening toward chocolate tones under brighter conditions. Leaf surfaces are semi-translucent at the tips, with faint windowed areas that allow light to pass through to the inner tissue. 
Haworthia Chocolate can produce slender white tubular flowers on thin stalks, typically in late spring or early summer. A slight drop in nighttime temperatures encourages blooming. It is pet-friendly, so there is no concern placing it anywhere in a home shared with cats or dogs. 
Rotate it a quarter turn every few weeks so each side receives even light exposure. Keep it away from air conditioning vents and heating units, though it handles dry heated indoor air without trouble. You can move it outside for summer, but cover it from rain and direct downpours. It fits well inside a terrarium, and you can leave it up to ten days without water. A: It can stay outside into early autumn as long as nighttime temperatures stay above 50°F. Bring it in before the first cold snap.

A: Haworthia Chocolate will develop soft, mushy leaves at the base when overwatered, and the roots may begin to rot. When in doubt, wait another few days before watering.

Succulents are resilient plants and typically recover quickly once they settle into their new environment. Give them a few days to adjust before placing them in direct sunlight, and avoid fertilizing right away.
