  •   Pothos Jade Satin (Epipremnum pinnatum 'Jade Satin') is a rare trailing houseplant native to the tropical rainforests of Southeast Asia, where it naturally climbs and cascades through the forest understory. This vining plant belongs to the Araceae family and has developed a devoted following among collectors for its understated aesthetic and straightforward care demands.

The leaves are deep green with a distinctive satin sheen that catches light without the heavy silver patterning found in other Scindapsus varieties. Each leaf is heart-shaped with a thick, almost velvety texture, and the trailing vines grow in cascading stems in any hanging planter or shelf display. Epipremnum 'Jade' produces new foliage steadily, creating full, layered growth along its length.

Epipremnum 'Jade' blooms rarely indoors, with flowers appearing only under specific greenhouse conditions. The plant is cultivated primarily for its foliage rather than its rare blooms, and it actively purifies indoor air by filtering formaldehyde and other household toxins while growing.

Hang it from a hook to let the vines trail, or place it on a high shelf for a cascading display. Rotate the pot regularly for even growth on all sides, and keep it away from south-facing windows where direct sun will scorch the leaves. Propagation is simple: take stem cuttings just below a node and place them in water or moist soil, with roots forming within two to four weeks. Position it on a high shelf away from pets and small children, as the sap can cause skin and paw irritation and the plant should not be ingested.

  •   Pothos Jade Satin grows well in medium to bright indirect light and adapts well to lower light conditions, including standard office LEDs.

Water it every 10 to 14 days, allowing the top inch of soil to dry out between waterings, and reduce frequency in winter.

Epipremnum 'Jade' does best in well-draining potting soil blended with perlite for healthy, breathable roots.

It prefers temperatures between 65 and 85°F and should be kept away from cold drafts, air conditioning vents, and heaters.

Epipremnum 'Jade' is a moderate grower that benefits from a balanced liquid fertilizer applied monthly during spring and summer.

It is hardy in USDA zones 10 to 12, tolerating minimum temperatures around 35°F before cold becomes a concern. It grows outdoors year-round in Hawaii, southern Florida, and the southernmost regions of California and Texas. Parts of Arizona, Louisiana, and coastal areas of Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, and Mississippi may also support outdoor growing in the warmest microclimates within zone 10 and above.
  • Q: How often should I water Pothos Jade Satin?
A: Water every 10 to 14 days when the top inch of soil feels dry. The leaves will wilt slightly when thirsty; overwatering causes root rot and yellow leaves.

Q: Is this plant safe around cats and dogs?
A: No. Pothos Jade Satin contains compounds that cause skin and paw irritation on contact, and ingestion can cause gastrointestinal upset. Keep it on a high shelf well out of reach of pets.

Q: What window direction works best for Epipremnum 'Jade'?
A: East or west-facing windows provide ideal bright indirect light. South-facing windows deliver too much direct sun and will scorch the foliage, while north-facing windows work only if the space receives supplemental LED light.

Q: How fast does it grow?
A: Epipremnum 'Jade' is a moderate grower that puts out new vines steadily through the growing season with monthly feeding. Rotating the pot regularly ensures even, full growth on all sides.

Q: Can I propagate Epipremnum 'Jade' from cuttings?
A: Yes. Take a cutting just below a node and place it in water or moist soil. Roots typically form within two to four weeks.

Q: Where can I grow this plant outdoors?
A: Epipremnum 'Jade' survives year-round outdoors only in USDA zones 10 to 12, including Hawaii, southern Florida, southern California, and southern Texas. Coastal microclimates in Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Arizona may also support outdoor cultivation in the warmest areas of zone 10.

    🌿 For Houseplants
When your package arrives, you may notice a bit of loose soil in the box. This is completely normal during shipping.
Please remove your plants from their packaging as soon as possible and review the care instructions included with your order. Water based on your plant’s needs, making sure not to overwater.
Houseplants may need a short adjustment period after arrival. Give your plant time to acclimate to its new space before placing it with other plants. You can gently clean the leaves if needed, and wait to fertilize until it has settled in. Always check soil moisture instead of watering on a fixed schedule.
