Sempervivum Calcareum

53 reviews
  • It is a succulent perennial plant that can reach 6 inches (15 cm) tall.

Its rosettes are beautifully symmetrical with a dome shape. The leaves are blue-green and have pointy burgundy tips.

Sempervivum Calcareum forms dense mats by multiplying via short-stalked offsets.

In summer, some mature rosettes produce clusters of starry, yellow-eyed, light pink flowers on thick stalks.

The rosettes that flower will naturally die afterward, but by this time, the plant has likely produced many offsets that will continue to grow.

All of the plants will be shipped bare root.
  • Gritty soil, Sandy.

    Full Sun or Partial shade.

Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely. Reduce watering to a minimum during winter.

Temperature: Prefers warm summer temperatures (65ºF/18ºC – 70ºF/21ºC).

In winter, it can tolerate temperatures down to freezing.
  • Zone 7b: 5 to 10 °F

Fragile plants such as bearpaw, baby toe, etc. may break or loose a few of their leaves during transport. Please contact us for replacements if your plants are severely damaged. • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.

2nd order! Happy Customer!

I have had a good experience with all the plants I've received. I chose to just order the plants I want rather than the monthly subscription. The only thing I think I will mention is the care cards are generalized and not type specific. I killed my first Aeonium Mardi Gras Rosettes because I did not know that this plant is a summer dormant succulent. I followed their care instructions and it just whithered more and more until it died. But I am in a bunch of succulent groups and they didn't know what was going on. When I reaserched it I figured it out. So just saying it's best to look up each of your succulents and find how to care for them.
