  •  Pleiopilos nelii cv. Royal Flush - Purple Split Rock is a mesemb cultivar with a vibrant purple color. "Royal Flush" produces a deep rose flower with a white center.

Pleiospilos nelii, also known as Split Rock, Cleft Stone, and Mimicry Plant, is a mesemb cultivar that resembles a piece of rock with green speckles as well as a straight cleft right down the middle. This stemless, perennial plant has one or two pairs of grey-green leaves, which will be replaced by a new pair every year.

In the spring or fall, it blooms large daisy-like yellow/pinkish-orange flowers that has a wonderful smell of coconut.

Pleiospilos nelii looks quite similar to Lithops but they are not the same. P. nelii is bigger than Lithops, can produce multiple flowers at once (which Lithops never do), and does not grow buried to its neck in the ground like Lithops do.

All of the plants will be shipped bare root.
  •  Porous and well-drained potting mix.

     Full sun to Partial sun.

Water thoroughly only when soil is dry to the touch, then let drain completely. Reduce watering to a minimum in the winter.

Split Rocks are quite cold-hardy and can tolerate mild cold winters outside. Most can survive temperatures down to freezing point.
  • Your plant will be meticulously bubblewrapped and shipped in a sturdy box. Most 2" plants are shipped in their original plastic pot with soil. Fragile and big 4" plants are shipped bareroot to ensure their safety. When opening your package, some soil may be loose in the box. Plant orders are shipped within 3-5 days depending on availability of the plant. We ship our plants Monday through Friday, all twelve months of the year! If you need your order urgently, please message us so we can upgrade your shipping (additional cost applied). Here is our blog about the shipping process and packaging. We do not ship outside of the continental United States.
  • We only ship out beautiful, healthy plants! Please track your package and open it immediately upon arrival. If you receive your package and are not satisfied, please message us immediately. Fragile plants such as bearpaw, baby toe, etc. may break or loose a few of their leaves during transport. Please contact us for replacements if your plants are severely damaged. We'll try our best to accommodate you. Plants may be slightly larger or smaller than the pot they are grown in, depending on availability or time of year.
  • Provide porous soil with adequate drainage, pots with drainage hole are recommended. Bright, filtered light and ample airflow. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Never let your succulents sit in water. Do NOT water on the leaves. If you water from beneath by letting the plant sit in a saucer of water, make sure to pour off any excess water after a few minutes. The hotter it is outside, the faster your soil will dry out, so you’ll need to water more often if you live in a hot area. Water with caution in winter, as the plant can lose its roots if the soil stays cold and wet for extended periods; protect from frost to prevent scarring.

Very healthy!

I was super pleased when I received this split rock. It looked totally healthy and plump but not at all stacked. There was a tiny bit of physical damage but it was totally minor.
